WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Ottawa Catholic School Board Choirs (featuring the OCSB Children’s Choir, Boys Choir, Chamber Choir and Young Voices Choir) will present their annual Spring Concert “Together in Song” on Sun., May 24, at 3:30 PM at St. Joseph’s Church (Wilbrod St. at Cumberland). Tickets $12 at the door. All are welcome. (KZ May 24)
Congratulations to MT's two Poetry contest winners. The winning poems are: Flaming Protection and Two Quarters Past. Prizes for the two winning poems are ready for pick up in the Learning Commons. Thank you to all who entered the contest - all of the poems were wonderful. (NBD May 22)
Hey Titans, Amazing Race is Back!!! Sign up with your team of 4 during High School Lunch and 7/8 Lunch from May 20th to May 27th. Teams must have 4 members and a fee of $8.00 per team ($2.00 a person). The first 25 teams signed up will receive an express pass that will allow them to skip one station. Non racers are allowed to watch, cheer and participate in non-participant activity booths. See you there! (MM May 27)
Fantastic books at very low prices (and free shipping!) are available to order from the Scholastic's Teen Readers Club flyers. These flyers can be picked up in the Learning Commons. Complete the order form and payment (cash or cheques made payable to Mother Teresa High School) and return both to the Learning Commons. Books are shipped very quickly and you will be notified as soon as they arrive. If you have any questions, please stop by the Learning Commons. (NBD May 29)

Remember, online payments are quick and easy. There's no waiting for your cheque to be processed...BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! If you need a refund, they can be done right away without a trip to the bank!! So, if you haven't registered, check it out at www.mths.ca, click on the schoolcash online link on the left hand side and register today! Don't forget to attach your child to your account so that every time an activity comes up, you will receive an email notification!! Then all you have to do is go to the account and pay! 7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
7/8 Girls Softball: Any girls interested in trying out for the 7/8 Girls Softball team are asked to sign up outside room 333. Grade 7 try-out will take place on Thursday, May 21st from 3 to 4. Grade 8 try-out will take place on Friday, May 22nd from 3 to 4. Bring your glove. (KS May 22)
Grade 7/8 Paddleball Team will practice Wednesday morning (7:15am). Permission forms and athletic fees ($20) due Wednesday. Tournament Thursday May 21 from 10-4pm at Holy Trinity. (HL May 21)

Grade 7/8 students interested in trying out for the Paddle Tennis Team are asked to sign up outside of room 339 by Wednesday this week. Athletes who have already participated on volleyball, basketball or touch football teams will not be allowed to participate. The paddle tennis tournament will be on May 21st. (HL May 21)
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Grade 11 Chemistry Competition: The candidates taking part in the grade 11 Avogadro Chemistry Competition are to meet in room 211 at the beginning of period 2 on Thursday, May 21st. See Ms. D'Angela if there are any questions. (ED May 21)
Student Council: Any high school students interested in being involved in Student Council next year please attend a brief meeting on Thursday at lunch in room 317. No experience required. (EB May 21)
All grade 10 students have been given permission forms for the Algonquin College Field Trip on Thursday, May 21st. If you did not receive one, please see Mrs Coyle in Student Services ASAP. Forms should be returned to homeroom teachers ASAP and payment of $5 to cover the bus can be made on-line or to your homeroom teacher. This is a half day trip for all grade 10s. Some students will be travelling to Algonquin for the morning sessions while the other half will be attending the afternoon session. (TC May 21)

Summer Driver Education Program registration forms have arrived in Student Services.
You have up to June 19th to register either online at www.summerconnections.com, or by mailing or dropping off the registration form to the Continuing Education Department (570 West Hunt Club Road) or by calling 613-228-3338 to register with Visa or Master Card payment. (KW June 19)
Coop Interviews Have Started! Make sure that your application form has been filled out and handed into Mrs. Watkinson in Student Services so that you can get interviewed for your dream job! Employers are hiring now for the best opportunities.
2015 Summer School Program from the Ottawa Catholic School Board.
Registration forms are now available in Student Services.
Register May 1st to June 25th through your Student Services Department.
All registration forms must be signed by you, a parent/guardian and your counsellor.
If unable to do so before June 25th, you will have to do so in person, on June 29th
from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at St. Nicholas Adult High School located at 893 Admiral Avenue.
The Numeracy/Literacy Summer School Program is for students currently in Grade 6, 7 or 8.
These courses are designed to enhance the English and Mathematics skills of students who are
at level 2 or lower. Students receive encouragement, gain confidence and learn how to improve organizational skills required at the Grade 7, 8 or 9 levels. (KW June 25)
Attention Grade 11 students. Are you interested in visiting Halifax, Nova Scotia this summer?
Saint Mary's University is hosting a weekend visit on July 18th and 19th. The cover the costs for a parent and a student to stay on campus, take part in engaging workshops and get a taste of Halifax culture. On Saturday, May 30th, Farley Mowat Public School will be hosting their 8th Annual Mayfair Carnival. Looking for students for the day of the event (Saturday, May 30th) as well as the Thursday, May 21st to deliver flyers in the neighbourhood. They would be helping with setup, take down, carnival games, bbq, raffle, prize booth, etc.We have an orientation session on Thursday May 21s at 6:30and delivery of flyers from 7 - 9.We are looking for volunteers on the Friday night (5-8 pm) and then if they work the entire Saturday, we start at 8 and go until 4. The West Ottawa Soccer Club is currently looking for coaches for the U4, U5 and U6 teams. No experience necessary as you would be working with very young kids who are just being introduced to soccer. All sessions plans are provided by the Club for you to follow. You must be born in 1999 or earlier to volunteer. We are currently looking for new volunteers for our exciting Ottawa Music Expo event taking place during the Music & Beyond festival on July 5, 2015. The volunteer team will assist with workshops, handing out brochures and balloons along the canal to encourage families to attend the Ottawa Music Expo. There will be many volunteer opportunities available including set up and tear down of the event so feel free to contact our volunteer coordinator who will work with you to find a position that you are interested in.Volunteer positions include (but are not limited to)(KW July 5)
Pre-Festival – Pre-festival volunteers help with office-related tasks such as advanced ticket sales and concert preparation.
Usher - Ushers greet patrons, take tickets, and direct people to their seats
Box Office - Box Office volunteers sell tickets at the door, as well as any other merchandise for that particular event.
Stage Crew – The Stage Crew helps move equipment and stage pieces and assists the stage manager as needed for the performance
