SchoolCashOnline: Our adoption rate has been climbing since we launched on October 31, 2014. Thank you to all of the families who have already registered!! Remember, online payments are quick and easy. There's no waiting for your cheque to be processed...BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! If you need a refund, they can be done right away without a trip to the bank!! So, if you haven't registered, check it out at www.mths.ca, click on the schoolcash online link on the left hand side and register today! Don't forget to attach your child to your account so that every time an activity comes up, you will receive an email notification!! Then all you have to do is go to the account and pay! SKI CLUB REFUNDS: Ski Club is now finished for this season. If your son/daughter requires a refund for a Ski Club evening that they missed due to illness or an unforeseen circumstance, please fill out the refund request form (found in the main office or on mths.ca - under News & Docs) and return it to Mr. Nearing in room 320 by Friday, March 6th for a refund. Once your form is received, cheques will be issued, in the Parent name, within 2 weeks. Please note that only lift passes and ski rentals will be refunded. (KZ March 6)
LEGO donations: We are looking for donations of LEGO bricks and/or sets for our new grade 7/8 club.

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Come to the chapel today at the beginning of lunch to learn more about how you can participate in this year's 24 hour ThinkFAST. What is a ThinkFAST? It's an experiential and fundraising fast that encourages you to stand in solidarity with those in Lebanon who need our support, both through financial support to projects they are leading, and through a greater understanding of the structures that perpetuate poverty and injustice. In one day, you take a stand against oppression and directly support a program in Lebanon that helps to bring peace, justice, and education to children displaced by years of war and conflict. Debate Team: There will be a meeting on Monday, March 9th after school in Room 138. The picture for the yearbook will also be taken. (JS March 9)
Attention Vocalists: Auditions are being held for the National Cappies Chorus who will be performing at the Cappies gala this year. Check out the poster on the Drama room door for Info on audition dates and locations. (RL March 13)
Film Photography Club: Starting next week The Photography department will be hosting a photography club for students who have taken film photography and want to continue to "develop" their skills. This will take place in room 100 during senior lunch every day 1. Come to the first meeting on Wednesday, March 11 at lunch in room 100 and find out more info. (RL March 11)
Report cards for students with period one spare: Please pick up your report cards in the Learning Commons. They will be there until Friday. Thank you! (NBD March 6 )
Any high school student with knowledge of running the scorer's table at basketball games, and are willing to help out at 7/8 girls/boys basketball home games, are asked to speak with either Mr. Quinn or Mr. Rusch. The first home game is Tuesday March 3rd. Volunteers are needed for 6 regular season games and possible playoff games. The games run from 3:30pm until 5pm. Volunteer hours can be obtained for all games. Please let us know ASAP, if you are able to help out. (TQ March 6)
Costa Rica 2016 - Attention all adventurers who are signing up for the Costa Rica Trip next February! The student information meeting for next year's Costa Rica trip is this Monday at lunch in room 117. The parent information will follow in Monday, March 9th at 6:00 pm at St, Francis Xavier High School. If you're interested in zip lining, stand up paddle boarding, snorkelling, volcanic hot springs, hiking, and staying in a tree house, this trip is for you! Only 12 spots available - secure your spot asap! If you love the beach and adventures on the water, this trip is for you! (SR march 20)

Nominations are now open and accepted online until 5pm on April 17, 2105 for the 2015 Youth Ottawa Spirit of the Capital Youth Awards taking place this June 4, 2015. Winners receive a bursary ($1,000 for winners and $250 for runner-ups to be used for advancement of academics or social enterprise in line with the values of Youth Ottawa). VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
The Irish Society/NCR organizes a St. Patrick’s parade each year (this year on March 14th (Saturday)) and we need volunteers (120 in fact) to help with traffic control. Volunteers must be at least 16 years of age. Student Volunteers will receive six (6) community service hours for volunteering for the day. DELF B2 Certification: Any students wising to challenge the DELF B2 exam are asked to obtain a permission form from room 314. The listening, reading, and writing components of the exam will be held at Mother Teresa H.S. on May 11. The speaking component will take place on May 12 at the Derry Byrne Teacher Resource Centre (165 Knoxdale Rd). Students are responsible for their transportation to and from Derry Byrne. There is a $30 cost, which covers administrative fees charged by the DELF Administrative Center. Cheques are to be made payable to the Ottawa Catholic School Board. Each school may send 7 students to challenge the DELF. The spaces for Mother Teresa H.S. will be assigned on a first come first served basis. Students will be placed on the list when they bring their completed permission form and check to room 314. (SL March 12)
Grade 12 students: Do you want to design your own grad ring or see what is available? Come to the atrium during your lunch period on Wednesday, March 4th and Thursday, March 5th and talk to a representative from Jostens' Rings. Booklets are available in Student Services. (KW March 5)
Prom will be held at the Sala San Marco on Preston Street on Friday May 29th from 5:30-11:00 pm. Grade 12 students are asked to sign into my.mths.ca and register their intent to attend, indicate food allergies, table preference, guest information (non-MT student) as well as vote for Prom King and Queen. At this time, each grade 12 student is allowed to purchase 1 ticket only. This can be done anytime online. During the week of April 6-10, tickets may be purchased in person at lunch, at which time guest tickets may also be purchased from your child's respective Vice-Principal and will require payment by cheque or cash ($80).
