WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Alpine Ski Team 7-12: H.S. Racers should please see Mrs. Brady during your lunch on Friday February 6 to make sure that you have enough practices for you to be eligible to race on Tuesday and Wednesday at the National Capital Race. All racers (grades 7-12) should also stop by to pick up your team shirt and to go over a few last minute items before next week. (AB – Feb 6)

7-8 School Play: There will be a rehearsal for scenes 1 and 3 on Thursday February 5 from 3-4pm on the stage. (JB – Feb 5)
Grade 7/8 Badminton Update: The Practice on Thursday February 5th is for grade 7 players ONLY. Please check the list outside of Mme Kinloch's classroom, room 232, to see if your name is on the list. (JK Feb. 5)
The annual MT Read-A-Thon is just around the corner. Do not miss out on an amazing day of reading and fun on February 19th. Prizes will be awarded throughout the day. Extra forms are available in the Learning Commons. Sign up and save your spot today. (NBD –Feb 6)
Grade 7-8 Valentine’s Dance: Friday February 13th from 1:15 to 2:35 pm in the Caf. gym. Purchase your 2$ entry fee in homeroom as of Wednesday February 4th. Online payment option available at mths.ca (opens Monday February 2nd and closes Wednesday February 11th) Is the Valentine’s Day Dance not your thing? No worries! The library will be available free of charge for alternative activities (e.g., computer time, study hall - maybe you want to get a head start on your homework for the weekend? watch a movie, etc. (EM Feb 13)
7-8 School Play: The rehearsals for the 7-8 school play are as follows:
Wednesday February 11: Scene 4 on stage from 3:00-4:00pm
Friday February 13: Scene 5 on stage from 3:00-4:00pm

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Biology Competition - any student in grade 11 or 12 wishing to compete in the Toronto University competition, please come Monday Feb 9th in room 202 at lunch. Bring lunch and supplies. (SS –Feb 9)
Debate: Meetings will resume on Mondays after school starting February 9. All are welcome. We meet in rm 138 for an hour. Our last couple of topics:
~ Parents should ignore gender when raising kids.
~ Sometimes it's OK to break the law.

Any grade 9 or 10 boy interested in trying out for the Jr. Boys Volleyball team is asked to sign up outside gym A/B, and to attend a tryout Wednesday morning starting at 7:30am. Please be prompt; (KB Feb. 11)
Math Enrichment: Students in grade 9 to 11 planning to write the Waterloo Math Contest are reminded to bring $5 to their enrichment teacher BEFORE exams. You must bring in your money to be registered to write the contest on February 24. We will meet next on Wednesday, February 4th. (NR Feb. 24)

Winter 2015 Night School - Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. Classes run from February 18th to June 1st. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:
Volunteers needed! We are coordinating our annual West End Basketball League (WEBL) Midget Girls Year-end Tournament and need basketball scorekeepers and timekeepers. The event takes place at LDHS starting from Friday (April 24th) after school until Sunday (April 26th) evening. We are looking for high school students and priority will be given to those who can commit to the whole tournament. This is a great way to pick up a ton of volunteer hours!
