Lunch Club Sign Up:  Sign up in the learning commons to participate in the various lunch clubs that we will be running this semester / year.

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

All grade 7/8 students that have signed up for 7/8 Photography Club are invited to the first meeting on Wednesday, October 1st from 12:45 - 1:00 in the Learning Commons.  Please be prompt. (HL Oct. 1)

There will be tryouts on Wednesday October 1 @ 7:15am and Friday October 3 in the caf gym from 3:00-4:30pm for all 7-8 girls that signed up for volleyball. (JB Oct. 3)

Boys Flag Rugby Practice will take place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 3-4.  Please bring water and cleats.  See Mrs. DePippo in roon 237 if you have a conflict.  (JD Oct. 2)

The tryouts for the 7/8 Boys Volleyball Team will be Wednesday October 1st and Thursday October 2nd at 7:30 am.  If you have not signed up yet, please do so outside of room 238.  (KB Oct. 2)

Signups for “Mocha Teresa” are posted outside room 216.  Auditions will be held October 20th – 24th at lunch and after school in the multipurpose room.  Self tapes may also be submitted to mthstalentshow2014@gmail.com.  Sign up now! Business Competition!  Submit a team to compete in the annual High School Perfect Pitch Competition being held at Ottawa University on October 15th.  Help us defend our title!  (Mother Teresa students have won the last three years in a row!!!)  More information is available on The Business Buzz information board outside room 216.  Those interested will have an opportunity to sign up for a preparation workshop being held during period 1 or 2 on October 1st.  Sign up now! CIBC Run for the Cure: On October 5th, the City is hosting the CIBC run for the cure.  If you are interested in completing some volunteer hours or making an MT running team, come in and talk with Mr. Côté in room 315 Wednesday September 17th at lunch. (PC Oct. 17)

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board - Night School - Fall 2014. Come pick up your registration form from Student Services, complete it, have a parent/guardian sign it, have your counsellor sign it. Then register: Registration is from now until Friday, September 12th during the day at Continuing Education, 440 Albert Streeet, from 9 am to 3:30 pm.  Evening registration is at the school offering your course choice (either Adult HS or Merivale HS) on Tuesday, September 9th from 6pm to 7:30pm and Wednesday, September 10th from 6pm to 7:30pm.

Belize Trip 2015Attention all MT Adventurers!  There is a parent meeting Wednesday, September 24th at 7:30 in the library for all students interested in the Belize trip this coming April 11-18th.  If you would enjoy exploring rainforests, unique cave and river system, snorkelling along a spectacular coral reef, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding, this trip is for you!  Please see Mrs. Ragaisis if you have any questions. TITAN TREK!

This is a regular school day for all students, with an exciting schedule of events! Here is the schedule for the day (all times are approximate):

8:40 am ~ Regular school start time.  All students report to Homeroom.

9:00 am – 10:00 am ~ Whole School (Gr. 7-12) Mass – Outdoors (please dress warmly) weather permitting

10:00 am – 10:30 am ~ Presentation by Helene Campbell – A Lung Run

10:30 am – 11:30 am ~ The Trek  ( approx.  3.5  Km route)

11:30 am – 12:30 pm ~ Free BBQ lunch provided for all students Gr. 7 - 12 (2 hotdogs, 1 bag of chips, 1 soft drink)

12:30 pm – 2:30 pm ~ School wide (Gr. 7-12) Volleyball Tournament

The first School Council meeting of the 2014/2015 school year will be held on Monday, September 22nd at

7 p.m. in the school Learning Commons located on the 2nd floor. Although there is a School Council Executive that is elected each year, parents do not have to hold an official position on School Council to attend the meetings. All parents are encouraged to attend the school council meetings to benefit from the many discussions held and to actively participate in these discussions. All High School Cross Country runners are asked to pick up their permission forms for this year's meets.  Our first meet of the season is next Wednesday, Sept. 24 and your money and forms need to be turned in by this Friday. If you do not pay, you cannot participate. (MG Sept. 19)

All runners part of the High School Cross Country team have a mandatory meeting on Thursday at lunch in Room 304 regarding next Wednesday's meet.  If you cannot be there you need to see Mrs. Galbraith in person BEFORE Friday. (MG Sept. 19)
