**Remember that lunch passes are available to Grade 8 students on Mondays and Wednesdays, Grade 7 students on Tuesdays and Thursdays and Grade 7 & 8 students on Fridays.**

clip_image006The Barrhaven Food Cupboard: Stats show that in 2010 they were assisting 46 families per month. In 3 years the need has risen to 112 families per month. Over half are children! Help our neighbours by supporting the Titan Food Drive. Bring your canned/packaged goods to the atrium before homeroom or at lunch. The BFC is counting on us to stock their bare cupboards and prepare for the summer months when donations are low. We can do it Titans!!

ATTENTION STUDENTS WHO SIGNED UP FOR CO-OP NEXT YEAR (2014-2015) If you would like to do a coop placement with Ottawa Police, the Coop Department needs to speak to you between May 8 and May 16, 2014 to see if you qualify. MTHS is able to submit 2 student applications to Ottawa Police each semester. Ottawa Police interviews will take place between May 21-30 at an Ottawa Police location. Please go to the Coop Office in Room 320 for more information and ask for Mrs. O’Sullivan, Mr. Nearing or Mrs. Rennick. (MO May 16)

clip_image030ABORIGINAL YOUTH CREATIVE WRITING AWARD.  The Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration is looking for submissions for the James Bartleman Aboriginal Youth Creative Writing Award.  Creative writing pieces may include short stories, poems, essays, plays, songs or even comic strips.  Recipients will receive a cash award of $2,500 each. Submission forms and more information are available at www.ontario.ca/bartleman, or by phone at:

Jackson Secondary School, 150 Abbeyhill Drive, Kanata.  Also attending are representatives from Algonquin College, Carleton University, Saint Paul University and University of Ottawa.  6:30-7:00 meet and greet, 7:00-7:30 powerpoint presentation from OSAP, 7:30-8:00 Questions and Answers.  RSVP at 613-836-5194. GRADUATION CEREMONY TICKETS: The Graduation Ceremony will take place at Mother Teresa HS on Thursday June 26 from 1:00 - 3:00pm. Please note that each graduate will be given 2 tickets for guests. Students can request extra tickets by signing up in Student Services between Thursday May 1st and Friday May 23. No extra tickets can be requested after May 23. Students will be informed exactly how many extra tickets they will receive shortly there after. (JH May 23)
