clip_image018VOLUNTEERS – OTTAWA CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL: The Ottawa Children’s Festival is looking for volunteers.  Register online at ottawachildrensfestival.ca. The festival takes place May 9-May 14, 2014, Lebreton Flats Park.  Lots of volunteer positions such as box office and information agent, set up, greeter, site host, site maintenance, traffic control, ushers, 4Cats art studio, face painting, petting zoo, circus workshops and floaters.  Information flyer available in Student Services. clip_image022THE MS SOCIETY OF CANADA Ottawa Chapter is holding their annual Mandarin MS Walk on Sunday, April 27th. We are looking to recruit over 200 volunteers to assist in a number of duties during the weekend of the event.  In previous years a majority of our volunteers have been students from in and around the Ottawa area.

EXPLORE is a five-week language-immersion course (spring or summer). Participants live in a student residence on campus or with a homestay family whose members speak French.  Participants in Explore receive a $2,200 bursary that covers tuition fees for the course, meals, accommodations, workshops, but the bursary does not cover other necessary costs such as registration fee ($225 non-refundable and payable only if you receive a bursary), travel costs, optional activities, spending money.  See brochures in Student  Services.
