If you are a grade 8 student interested in student leadership you are invited to come out to a meeting about a grade 7/8 student council. The meeting will be on Monday December 16th at lunch in room 233. (MR Dec 16)

The Christmas movie lunch is this Friday, December 13th. Sign up for a special library pass after school today or tomorrow morning before school. On Friday, bring your lunch and sit back and enjoy a showing of How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Popcorn will be available for $1.00 a bag. (NBD Dec 12)

Grade 7 Boys Floorball tryouts on Thursday Dec 12 after school (3pm - 4 pm) in Gym C. (GR Dec 12)

7 and 8 boy's Futsal try-out is next Tuesday after school. The first cuts for the girl's team have been made. The girls will have a second try-out next Thursday after school. (CN Dec 12)

Can all Cheer Team members please remember about our pot luck (bring your favourite snack food) Tuesday, December 17, 2013. I can not do Wednesday as I have a Volleyball away game. We will discuss the plan for January and our Cheer Team future.The room will be determined. (JR Dec 17)

CHAPEL CHAIRS: From now on, chapel chairs will be used for chapel/mass activities only. Several are missing, they have stains on them, and one was recently broken.  Please do not remove them from the chapel.

Saint-Paul University has an open house on Wednesday, January 22nd from 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm.

Explore is a five-week language-immersion course (spring or summer). Participants live in a student residence on campus or with a homestay family whose members speak French.  Participants in Explore receive a $2,200 bursary that covers tuition fees for the course, meals, accommodations, workshops, but the bursary does not cover other necessary costs such as registration fee ($225 non-refundable and payable only if you receive a bursary), travel costs, optional activities, spending money.  See brochures in Student  Services.   To be eligible to apply, you must meet all of the following criteria:  be a canadian citizen or permanent resident; be at least in Grade 11 during the current school year; have been a full-time student for at least one term during the current school year.   You must also be at least 16 years old.  To see a detailed list of the participating colleges and universities across Canada, go to their website:  www.myexplore.ca and to apply, visit www.myexplore.ca/apply

SAT Prep At Ashbury College.  Students will learn test-taking strategies and develop the necessary math, reading, grammar and writing skills to increase scores and achieve their admission goals.

Class session:  Six 4 hour sessions, December 21st - January 18th, 2014.  Location:  Ashbury College.  Time:  Saturdays 10 am to 2pm; Wednesdays5:30pm - 9:30pm.  Dates:  Dec 21, Jan, 4, 8, 11, 15, 18. Final SAT simulation test-Sunday, January 19th, 2014 from 10 am to 2 pm at Ashbury College.  Official SAT date is January 25th, 2014. clip_image009clip_image009[1]clip_image011CANADIAN GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND: will host a gift wrapping station at Rideau Centre, 50 Rideau Street, during all mall hours in the month of December.  We are seeking students to fill two or four hour shifts on any given day.  The volunteer duty involves dealing with the public and wrapping gifts.  There will be adult supervision at all times by a representative of our organization. I can be contacted directly by telephone or email by any students wishing to volunteer.
