REMEMBRANCE DAY INVITATIONS: Any student who has a parent/relative or family friend who is a past or present member of the Canadian Armed Forces, police, fire fighter, first responder, etc. is asked to come to the office to pick up an invitation to invite this individual to our Remembrance Day Service on Monday November 11th. They are asked to arrive in their uniform and they will be seated at the front of the gymnasium to view the Service. (JK Nov 6)
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Read-A-Thon will be taking place this Thursday for all students who returned their pledge forms and money. You are responsible for any missed work, so please do not forget to speak with your teachers before Thursday. On Thursday, please report to your homerooms for attendance and then come directly to the Learning Commons. You are encouraged to wear comfy clothes/your pajamas, bring a pillow and/or blanket and, of course, your reading materials (books and/or e-books). Drinks and snacks are permitted, but please make sure they are nut-free. (NBD Nov 7)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

NORDIC SKI TEAM: Any High School student interested in joining the Nordic ski team are ask to see Mr Francoeur in room 103 Thursday November 7 at 11:30 am. If you cannot make the meeting, make sure to talk to him. Practices will start soon. (MF Nov 7)
ATTENTION GIRLS FIELD HOCKEY PLAYERS: Any girls who ordered a team t-shirt and have still not picked it up in room 234 are encouraged to see Ms Pendergest as soon as possible to pay your $20 and pick up your t-shirt. (CP Nov 8)
HIGH SCHOOL SWIMMERS: There will be a very important meeting for all those interested in joining the high school swim team on Wednesday November 6th in room 205 at the start of lunch. Our first practice is scheduled for Monday November 11 from 7:15-8:15am at Walter Baker Pool. If you cannot attend the meeting please see Mrs. Sinclair asap. (JS Nov 6)
ATTENTION GIRLS FIELD HOCKEY PLAYERS: Please return your uniform to Ms. Pendergest after Titan Trek October 31st. Also, please note all Tier 1 medals must be returned so that the appropriate Tier 2 medals can be distributed to the team. Please return your medal to Ms. Pendergest as soon as possible. (CP Nov 8)

Manotick Family Christmas Party: Saturday, December 7th, 2013. Looking for volunteers.
The party takes place immediately following the Manotick Lions Christmas Parade. There will be 10 activity stations set up in the basement of the Manotick United Church. Students interested in working with children from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm on that day are asked to contact Donna Ouellette or Laurel Slattery at 613-692-4635. (KW Dec 7)

CANADIAN GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND: will host a gift wrapping station at Rideau Centre, 50 Rideau Street, during all mall hours in the month of December. We are seeking students to fill two or four hour shifts on any given day. The volunteer duty involves dealing with the public and wrapping gifts. There will be adult supervision at all times by a representative of our organization. I can be contacted directly by telephone or email by any students wishing to volunteer.

Senior High School students who maintain an average of 80% and who are fluent in English and French are invited to apply to the House of Commons Page Program for the 2014-2015 academic year. More information is available on the Parliament of Canada Web site. Applications must be submitted online at www.parl.gc.ca/hocpage. Deadline for applications this year is Monday, December 9, 2013. Grad Photos take place from Monday Nov 18 to Friday Nov 22.
It is important that everyone gets a Grad Photo taken as the photo is used in the Yearbook and for the Grad Composite that hangs in the atrium
You have 2 options:
1) You don't want to buy a photo package. Then no appointment necessary, just drop in during your spare, before school, at lunch or after school.
or
2) If you want to purchase a photo package. Book online a sitting session in order to purchase a professionally done Grad Photo.
