JEANS DAY: A reminder that Friday Oct 25^th is Jeans Day. This week our contributions will go toward our HS Religion Department to bring students to a Religion retreat. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. (KM Oct 25)

It’s time once again for The Ottawa Hospital’s “Rattle Me Bones” 2K-5K-10K road races.  This is the 20^th anniversary of RMB and the funds raised will go to support bone cancer research.

We need your support and enthusiasm to help make our event a success.  This year’s race will be held on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at the General Campus of The Ottawa Hospital. Volunteer registration and details can be found at: https://secure.eventsonline.ca/events/rattle_volunteer/ We have needs for the day of the Race and we are also looking for some help in the days leading up to the RACE and would appreciate any availability you may have!

REMEMBRANCE DAY INVITATIONS: Any student who has a parent/relative or family friend who is a past or present member of the Canadian Armed Forces, police, fire fighter, first responder, etc. is asked to come to the office to pick up an invitation to invite this individual to our Remembrance Day Service on Monday November 11th.  They are asked to arrive in their uniform and they will be seated at the front of the gymnasium to view the Service. 7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

HALLOWEEN DANCE: Thursday October 31st  in the Caf gym!  2$ to come and boogie with your costume on and dance the afternoon away with all your friends!  (Ensure that you are in good academic standing with your teachers) (EM Oct 31)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

CURLING TEAM:  The high school curling team tryouts will take place on Wednesday October 30 and Wednesday November 6.  All students who signed up for the teams are asked to meet at the side door at 3:40pm on both days to catch the cabs.  If you have changed your mind and do not wish to tryout or missed the meeting, please see Mrs. Robinson in room 301 asap. TAKE YOUR KIDS TO WORK DAY: To ALL Grade 9 students that are in a Grade 10 homerooms. Please pick up a Take Your Kids To Work Day package in guidance. THE CANSKATE PROGRAM IS LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS: The program is run at the Walter Baker Centre with opportunities on Saturday mornings,Sunday afternoons,and Tuesday & Thursday evenings. Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind will host a gift wrapping station at Rideau Centre, 50 Rideau Street, during all mall hours in the month of December.  We are seeking students to fill two or four hour shifts on any given day.  The volunteer duty involves dealing with the public and wrapping gifts.  There will be adult supervision at all times by a representative of our organization. Senior High School students who maintain an average of 80% and who are fluent in English and French are invited to apply to the House of Commons Page Program for the 2014-2015 academic year.  More information is available on the Parliament of Canada Web site.  Applications must be submitted online at www.parl.gc.ca/hocpage.  Deadline for applications this year is Monday, December 9, 2013.  Those chosen as Pages will be contracted to work for a period of one year, beginning late August 2014.  (KW Dec 9)

It's that time again when we get the farm ready for winter! Please plan to join us as we prepare the cottages and grounds for the colder weather. We will also be rebuilding the rink boards!! Go ENG Girl 2013: The University of Ottawa extends an invitation to our students to participate in the ninth annual Go ENG Girl Event, being held at University of Ottawa on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 9 am to 3 pm. Mother Teresa… Did you know…??
