Day 1 - H.S. & Day 3 - Gr. 7 & 8

We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass- grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence... We need silence to be able to touch souls.

WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

OUTDOOR CLUB: Could all the members of the outdoor club please meet in room 103 at 11:45 Friday September 20. We will talk about the next two outings (horse back riding and zip lining). I would also like to spend a few minutes with the people going camping next week. New members welcome. (MF Sep 20)

RESILIENT & READY: A Luncheon Conversation for Parents: Date: Thursday, September 26, 2013: Time: 12:00pm – 1:30pm (doors open at 11:30am) Location: Centurion Convention Center (170 Colonnade Road) Admission: $25. The second annual Resilient & Ready luncheon is presented by Tomlinson, D.I.F.D. and The Royal in response to a growing desire amongst parents in our community for more information about youth mental health. It follows a successful inaugural event, which reached more than 550 parents. (MR Sep 26)

REGISTER NOW: For A Lung Run and receive a $5 subway giftcard if you are a student from Mother Teresa. A lung Run is a new Barrhaven fall run. All proceeds go to Helene Campbell Give2live campaign. The run is October 5 and starts and finishes at Mother Teresa. Cash Prizes will be given to the top 5 men and women in the 5 and 10k runs. 7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

Boys and Girls Flag rugby try outs will take place Wednesday September 18^th and Friday September 20^th from 3-4.  Please come dressed to practice outside. (JD Sep 20)

CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING: The grade 7/8 cross country running try-outs will begin next Tuesday September 10th after school from 3:00 - 4:00.  Please sign up on Monday September 9th on the list outside Mme Kinloch's classroom. (room 232) On Tuesday we will meet behind the school near the basketball standards.  Please be changed and ready to run. Bring your backpacks outside with you. A water bottle would also be a good idea.

Practices will continue every Tuesday and Thursday after school until the meet on Tuesday September 24th. (JK Sep 24)

MTE. ST. ANNE TRIP:  There will be a meeting for all those high school students interested in going on the Mte. St. Anne trip in February.  The meeting will be in room 216 (Mr. Baldin's room) on Thursday, Sept 19at lunch. (LB Sep 19)

THE OTTAWA SENATORS FAN FEST VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Any grade 9-12 student interested in getting 8 hours of Community Service at The Ottawa Senators Fan Fest, please see Mrs. Rennick in room 320. There is a sign up sheet outside her door with details. (JR Sep 20)

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS’ HOCKEY SIGN-UP/TRY-OUTS: Anyone interested in playing in the varsity girls’ hockey team must sign up in Rm. 309 (on the door). Try-outs will be Friday, September 20^th at the Walter Baker A, 3:30-4:30. Please see Mr. Gervassi in Rm. 309 for more details. (MG Sep 19)

NEW YORK CITY 2014: Permission forms and first deposits are due on or before Friday, September 27th 2013 to Mr. Rowley in Room 136.  Spots are guaranteed on a first come - first pay basis. (MR Sep 27)

PARIS TRIP: Attention any high school students interested in participating in the Overseas Enrichment Trip in 2014.  The trip will be to Dublin, Wales, London and Paris. Registration is taking place now.  Please see Mr. Buccino in room 302.  All students my sign up by Sept. 30, 2013. (MB Sep 30)

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED THIS FOR RICHMOND FAIR:

The fair starts this Thursday night and runs through to Sunday in Richmond, Ontario. The main lot is located (where I’m located for the two days, Saturday & Sunday) on the corner of Perth and Huntley Road. (Just before the Richmond Arena-on the same side). Again I’m looking for students (that need hours) to volunteer and help me out in assisting and directing people where to park their vehicles. We run lots from 8am -4pm Saturday and Sunday only (Total 16 hours). I can work around anyone’s schedule and if they want to work 2hours or 8 hours that is fine with me. I will have the hours noted and sheets handed out for their school to record their hours that they work. Anyone that works the full 8 hours, lunch is on the fair. Mother Teresa… Did you know…??
