Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat.

OUTDOOR CLUB: The outdoor club meeting is postpone to Monday September 23. It will take place in room 103 at 11:45 am. New members are welcome. We will talk about the next two outings (horseback riding and zip lining). I would also like to spend a few minutes with the people going camping next week. New members welcome. (MF Sep 23)
RESILIENT & READY: A Luncheon Conversation for Parents: Date: Thursday, September 26, 2013: Time: 12:00pm – 1:30pm (doors open at 11:30am) Location: Centurion Convention Center (170 Colonnade Road) Admission: $25. The second annual Resilient & Ready luncheon is presented by Tomlinson, D.I.F.D. and The Royal in response to a growing desire amongst parents in our community for more information about youth mental health. It follows a successful inaugural event, which reached more than 550 parents. (MR Sep 26)
REGISTER NOW: For A Lung Run and receive a $5 subway giftcard if you are a student from Mother Teresa. A lung Run is a new Barrhaven fall run. All proceeds go to Helene Campbell Give2live campaign. The run is October 5 and starts and finishes at Mother Teresa. Cash Prizes will be given to the top 5 men and women in the 5 and 10k runs. 7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
ATTENTION GRADE 7/8 CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNERS: There will be a meeting for all runners in Madame Kinloch's room (room 232) at lunch on Monday September 23rd. Bring your lunch with you. If you usually buy your lunch bring a bagged lunch on Monday. If you have not already handed in your permission form and $20 athletic fee please bring that as well. Team jerseys will be distributed at the meeting. If you can't make the meeting please see Mme Kinloch in room 232 BEFORE the meeting. (JK Sep 23)
CROSS-COUNTRY RUNNING: The grade 7/8 cross country running try-outs will begin next Tuesday September 10th after school from 3:00 - 4:00. Please sign up on Monday September 9th on the list outside Mme Kinloch's classroom. (room 232) On Tuesday we will meet behind the school near the basketball standards. Please be changed and ready to run. Bring your backpacks outside with you. A water bottle would also be a good idea.
Practices will continue every Tuesday and Thursday after school until the meet on Tuesday September 24th. (JK Sep 24)
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
DEBATE CLUB: High school students in grades 9-12 who are interested in debating hot button issues and/or improving their oral presentation skills are asked to come to the first meeting of the year in Rm 138 after school on Monday. MANGA CLUB: Will now meet every Friday during lunch in the Learning Commons (Seminar Room). New members are welcome. (NBD Sep 27)
PEER HELPERS: Attention high school students - for those who have signed up to be a peer helper, please check the list located on the classroom door of room 302. Please note: there will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, Sept. 23 at lunch to discuss your first Gr. 7 homeroom visit.. Please be prompt. (MB Sep 26)
HIGH SCHOOL TUTOR: Any high school student interested in being a tutor for students at Mother Teresa HighSchool, please come to Student Services to fill out an application. Tutoring takes place at the school. For more information go to Student Services. (TC Sep 27)

PARIS TRIP: Attention any high school students interested in participating in the Overseas Enrichment Trip in 2014. The trip will be to Dublin, Wales, London and Paris. Registration is taking place now. Please see Mr. Buccino in room 302. All students my sign up by Sept. 30, 2013. (MB Sep 30)
