WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
LAST DAY FOR CAFETERIA SERVICE: The last day for cafeteria service is Friday June 21. There will be no caf service for June 24 - 26, so all staff and students are reminded to bring a lunch on those days. PLEASE NOTE: There will also be no caf service on Thursday June 20, as the Gr. 7/8 students will be at Calypso, and HS students will be in exams. (SD –Jun 21)
PLEASE CLEAR ALL LIBRARY FINES AND ITEMS NEEDING TO BE RETURNED: As the year winds down, please remember to return all library books by the due date. Fines must be paid before the end of the school year. Students can go to the Learning Commons after morning announcements to clear any outstanding items. (CHV –Jun 21)

JUNE CANNED FOOD DRIVE: "By our works we show our faith". As a final social justice initiative before summer, MT's Invincible Neighbours are hosting a canned food drive for the Barrhaven food cupboard. They are currently running low on peanut butter, canned pasta, canned beans (kidney, chickpeas, black beans), canned vegetables (peas, carrots, beans and mixed vegetables) and canned fruit. All donations are welcome. Please bring donations to the MT chapel! The canned food drive runs until June 21st! (JW –Jun 21)
YEARBOOKS: Any student who has purchased but has not yet picked up their yearbook OR are unsure as to whether or not you ordered a yearbook, are asked to come to the main office and see Ms. Zimmer. (KZ –Jun 24)

GRADE 8 STUDENTS WHO ARE ATTENDING THE SEMI FORMAL ON FRIDAY, JUNE 21: Your ticket to the semi formal will be distributed during PERIOD 4 on Friday, June 21. You WILL need this ticket to gain admittance to the dance at 6:00 pm. Any questions or concerns, please see Ms. Curtis in Room 235 BEFORE ticket distribution on Friday, June 21. (TC –Jun 21)

LF RESPONSIBLE ARTISTIC STUDENTS FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS THIS SUMMER: There are a few weeks of summer camp running and helpers are needed at Mother Teresa HS: July 2 - 5, 8 - 12, 15 – 19. Please call Carrie Clancy at 613-296-3726, for more information. (KW –Jun 21)
LF VOLUNTEERS! Hosting a family day event on Sat., Aug. 17, 2013 @ 6 Corvus Crt., Ottawa, Ontario from 10:00 am to 3:00pm. This is a member’s appreciation day where food will be served, outdoor inflatables for the kids. We are also doing fundraising for CHEO as well. Volunteers need for face painting the children in attendance. We are expecting 200 children. Anyone interested would certainly be entitled to earning community hours as well as getting their meal provided. I will supply the face painting supplies as well. FRENCH TUTOR NEEDED: Looking for a grade 12 (preferably) or 11, or 10 (last choice) French immersion male student who is quite good in conversational French to tutor for the summer. ESP PROGRAM AT CARLETON UNIVERSITY: For students that do not receive an Offer of Admissions, Carleton provides an opportunity to attend university next year. The Enriched Support Program is designed for students that are just below the cut off average. Deadline to apply is **CORRECTION** Tuesday July 2. For info and application visit carleton.ca/esp. COMMENCEMENT FOR GRADS: The commencement ceremony takes place on Thursday, June 27th in the cafetorium at MTHS. Students can pick up their cap & gown from the tuck shop beginning at 10:00am. This provides the opportunity for family photos. Students must meet in the wood floor gymnasium by12:00pm. Doors to the cafetorium will be open, for parent seating, at 12:15pm. Guests must have a ticket to attend the ceremony. The gown and stole must be returned to the tuck shop after the ceremony, at which time the students are given their diplomas. (JH -21 Jun)
