DON'T THROW YOUR PALMS OUT! If you have blessed palms/palm crosses from last Palm Sunday, please bring them to the chapel where they can be turned into ashes for our Ash Wednesday service. (JW –Feb 8)
PIZZA! The prom committee will be selling pizza for $2 a slice on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school, from now until the end of April. Thank you in advance for your support. There will be NO SALES during Exams (week of 28-Feb.1, 2013). (JR –Apr 30)
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
BASKETBALL TEAM: Those Grade 7/8 Boys interested in trying out for the basketball team are asked to sign up on the sheet posted on the bulletin board outside Mr. Quinn's gym office. The list we be posted there until this Friday afternoon. If you have any questions or concerns see Mr. Rowley in room 136. (MR – Feb 8)
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
MT STE ANNE TRIP: There is a mandatory meeting on Wednesday at lunch in room 103 for all students going on the Mont Ste. Anne/Le Massif ski trip. Important information will be shared at this time. Please see Mrs. Brady if you are unable to attend. (AB –Feb 6)
REACH FOR THE TOP: The High School Reach for the Top Trivia Tournament is starting again. Anyone interested in signing a team up for the lunchtime trivia challenges, please see Mr. Specht for a team sign-up sheet and have it returned by Wednesday, February 6th. (JS –Feb 6)
MEDIEVAL TIMES/TORONTO TRIP: This is an important reminder to all students planning on attending the Toronto Trip to Medieval Times and the ROM, that payment and permission forms are due ASAP to Mrs. Galbraith and at the VERY LATEST Friday Feb 8. Only 5 are confirmed and we need 20! (MG –Feb 8)

NIGHT SCHOOL INFORMATION (session February 19th - May 29th) from the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is available in Student Services. Registration details are as follows:
- During the day from Monday, January 21st to Tuesday, February 12th at 440 Albert Street from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.
- Evening registration is at the high school site of your course choice (Adult HS or Merivale HS) on Monday, February 11th (6:00pm -7:30pm), Tuesday, February 12th (6:00 pm - 7:30pm)
- Registration deadline is February 12th.
All classes are conditional to sufficient enrolment and are subject to cancellation or transfer to an alternate location. Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration forms must be signed by student and parent/guardian and approved by day school counsellor. RINGETTE TOURNAMENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: The Nepean Ringette Provincial A Championships is taking place Thursday, March 14th to Sunday, March 17th, 2013. Need volunteers to help out at the Nepean Sportsplex and Walter Baker Sports Center during their tournament weekend. There are various ;positions to keep you busy all day long. ALGONQUIN COLLEGE VISIT: A representative from Algonquin College will be in the Atrium at lunch on Monday, February 11 to answer any questions you have about Algonquin College or your application. (JH –Feb 11)
MT SCHOOL LETTER: Every year at the Graduation Mass the MT School Letter is awarded to students who have met the criteria. Students must complete the application which includes teacher signatures from teachers that supervised various activities. Now would be a good time to begin the application process. The application and criteria is found on the Student Services website at ss.mths.ca. (JH -Feb 15)
UNIVERSITY OF NEW BRUNSWICK is hosting a "Transition to UNB" student and parent information evening on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at 7 pm at the Lord Elgin Hotel. Learn about programs, campus life, financial aid and scholarships. Information is posted in the atrium. (KW –Feb 21)
