clip_image004SKI/SNOWBOARD CLUB:  The season has been delayed a week and will now start on Wed. Jan 25th. The remaining dates will be Feb. 8, 15, 22, 29 and March 7. The bus list will be posted this week. Ski/snowboard equipment should be placed in the wood shed in the compound on the west side of the school. (KN –Jan 18)

 

SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDERS: Check out the January TEENRC flyer at www.scholastic.ca/clubs.  Order forms are available in the TLC and are due Tuesday, January 24. Make cheque payable to Mother Teresa High School. (CHV –Jan 24)

clip_image012VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER: Any grade 9-12 girl interested in playing for the Mother Teresa Varsity Girls Soccer Team is asked to attend a brief but mandatory meeting @ lunch on Wednesday January 18th  in room 102.  If you are unable to attend this meeting please see Ms. McSwiggan. clip_image014PIZZA LUNCH FOR LEADERSHIP CAMP STUDENTS:  Just a reminder for students who attended Leadership camp in September 2011 and signed up for pizza today- Wed, Jan 18th, we will meet in rm 112 at lunch. (TC –Jan 18)

 

ATTENTION VIMY RIDGE TRAVELLERS:  There will be a meeting on Thursday, January 19th at 11:30.  Please bring your passports, insurance info and soldier assignment if you can. (MM –Jan 19)

 

clip_image016BIOLOGY FIELD TRIP – SEPT 2012: Would you be interested in dissecting starfish? Whale watching? Working on a research vessel? Are you thinking of taking Biology or Environmental Science in Grade 11 or 12? If this sounds interesting to you, please come see Ms.Soprovich in Room 205 before school or at lunch this week to pick up a letter about the Biology Field Trip to the Huntsman Marine Science Centre in New Brunswick in September 2012. clip_image020NIGHT SCHOOL - WINTER 2012 (FEBRUARY 21ST TO MAY 30TH) from the Ottawa-Carleton Public School Board. Registration during the day is from Monday, January 23rd to Tuesday, February 14th at 440 Albert Street from 9:00 am to 3:30pm.  Evening registration is at the high school of your course’s choice (Adult High School or Merivale HS) on Monday, February 13th (6pm-7:30pm) and Tuesday, February 14th (6pm-7:30pm). Early registration is recommended as space is limited.  Registration forms are available in Student Services. These forms require a signature from a parent/guardian, the student and a counsellor from our school.  Once the form is completed, the original is returned to the student to take to the registration site of his/her choice for processing. clip_image022THE VICTORIA QUILTS CLUB WILL NOW BE MEETING on Thursdays in the library from 3:00 pm to 4:30pm.  Come and have fun with a needle and thread and tie knots.  It's that simple!  No experience necessary.Earn community service hours at the same time.   New members (guys or gals) are invited to join.  The more the merrier and the more quilts we can complete and help out a great cause.  See Mrs. Watkinson in Student Services for more information. clip_image024IT'S HERE!  DRIVER EDUCATION PROGRAM REGISTRATION FORM!  Visit your Student Services Office for registration forms. Registration runs from January 16th - February 17th.  In-class lessons will be Wednesdays at Mother Teresa High School for 8 weeks starting February 29th from 3:15pm - 6:00pm.  Students must bring a copy (front and back) of their G1 to the first calss, plus a copy of the MTO Driver's Handbook.  This Driver's Ed program combines in-class, at-home and in-car instruction.  Successful completion of this program allows a reduction of the G1 license driving period and a possible insurance discount (check with your insurance company). clip_image028GRADUATION INFO:  The MT Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2012 will be held at Mother Teresa on Thursday June 28 at 1:00 pm. Each student will be given 2 tickets for guests. Students will be able to request extra tickets starting in May and will be informed whether they will get extra tickets, in early June. (JH –Jan 20)
