WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DAYS - BASIC POWER YOGA: One Month Yoga session Nov 10th to Dec 1st. Every Thursday 3:00-4:00 PM, in the Dance Studio. Have fun playing around with over 600 poses as you build strength, tone your muscles, decrease stress, increase flexibility, and work on your balance. Email: julierollwagen@rogers.com to register before November 10th. Leave your name, email and phone number. Minimum of 10 students required for session to run. Cost is $25.00 for 4 classes. CONGRATULATIONS on the wonderful job you are doing at lunch time with the separation of your waste into the green bins, blue bins and garbage.
Beginning on Monday, November 7th, students will be dismissed, by table, from the cafeteria after the entire table is cleared of garbage. If someone eats their lunch beside you and decides to move to a different table, please remind them to clean up their garbage before they leave. (MC – Nov 7)
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Y VOLUNTEER OTTAWA CONTEST: Take a picture, create a video, write a poem, paint, sing, dance...anything that answers the question "Why Volunteer?" Enter the contest to win great prizes. Entrants must be between 16 and 24 years of age. Entrants should live in or be from the Ottawa area. Entries must be in either French or English. Entries are being accepted from October 21st until midnight November 27th, 2011. For more information including contest rules and dates visit: volunteerottawa.ca/youth/contest. RINGETTE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Student Volunteers Needed for the Nepean Ringette Association at its 24th annual tournament November 17-20th. Contact Jessica Crouch at 613-769-3405 for more details or to volunteer. (KW-Nov 11)
FRENCH TUTOR NEEDED: LF a French tutor, once a week, from 6pm – 7pm, for a female Grade 5 student from St. Andrew School. Please leave a message at 613-440-0455. (KW – Nov 11)
STUDENT EXCHANGE: International Student Exchange - Ontario is holding an information meeting for interested students and parents on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 7:30pm at the Ottawa Carleton District School Board Lecture Hall at 440 Albert Street. (parking is available with access from Laurier or Slater) A representative will be present to provide information and answer questions. Please visit www.iseontario.on.ca for details about programs. GRADE 12’s / GRADS 
GRADUATING STUDENTS – POLICIES AND DEADLINES: In the past, it has been the practice of some graduating students to leave their Community Service Hours to the last month of school, thereby jeopardizing their graduation in June. As a result, the following policies are now in place at Mother Teresa:
· PROM: All graduating students must have completed their 40 hours of community service if they intend to attend their graduation dance. The earlier the better! Hours must be submitted to Student Services by Friday May 11th, 2012.
- GRADUATION: In order to attend the Graduation Ceremony, students must have the 40 hours of community service completed by Friday June 11, 2012.
Forms are available in Student Services, the main office, or on the Mother Teresa website. (SD –Nov 11)
