WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
WORLD HUNGER WEEK AT MOTHER TERESA: During both lunches Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (Oct 17-19), come to the atrium and sign the letters of concern that we will be sending to the Government of Canada regarding Canada's role in reducing world hunger. Watch out for the S.A.A.E. Team and sign the letters! (MD –Oct 19)
LET'S CHAT YOUTH CAFÉ: Be heard. Have your say. The Ottawa Police Service and the Ottawa Police Services Board are hosting a Let's Chat Youth Café because it's their turn to listen! Come join a real police-youth conversation and explore the issues that matter to you and your friends in small group table chats. You'll eat free food and maybe even win an iPod or Sens tickets! 7/8 INTRAMURAL SPECTATORS: Starting on Tuesday, there will be a sign up sheet posted outside the Phys Ed offices, for anyone wishing to be a spectator at the lunchtime intramurals. The list will be posted at 8:15 and taken down at 8:30 every day. The first 30 people to sign up will be admitted into the gym to watch. If your name is not on the list, you will not be allowed in. You may only sign yourself up, and cannot sign up a group of friends. We are limiting the amount of spectators due to safety concerns of having over a hundred spectators, and having too many instances of garbage being left behind. Players who play on any given day do not need to sign up, but still need to be present, in the gym, by the beginning of the first game (12:40). (MM –Oct 21)

M.T.S.A.I.D: Those MTSAID members ordering t-shirts are reminded to submit $26 to Mrs. Kowal by Thursday October 20th. There will be a meeting on Thursday October 20th in room 209 at the beginning of lunch. (MK –Oct 20)
SR. BOYS VOLLEYBALL: Sr Boys Volleyball there is a home game Tuesday October 18th against Notre Dame, another home game on Thursday October 20th against Holy Trinity. On Monday October 24 there is an away game at Ridgemount and a home game on Thursday October 27th and our last game for the regular season is at home Tuesday November 1st against St Pius. VICTORIA QUILTS: A reminder that the Victoria Quilts Club will be meeting Tuesday, October 18th at 3:00 pm in the library. Bring your enthusiasm, your funny stories, and some music. Let's have some fun! Anyone can join the Victoria Quilts Club. It's such an easy way for High School students to get their community service hours. HOUSE OF COMMONS PAGE PROGRAM: Student Services has some promotional materials concerning the House of Commons Page Program for the 2012-2013 academic year. More information is available on the Parliament of Canada Web site. Applications must be submitted online at www.parl.gc.ca/hocpage. Senior HS students who maintain an average of 80% and who are fluent in both official languages are invited to apply. Also, to be eligible, students must also be accepted at a university in the National Capital Region and be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Deadline for applications this year is Thursday, December 22, 2011. (KW –Oct 21)

Volunteer tab to search for Volunteer opportunities. There are numerous volunteer opportunities during the school year. At times, there are too many to post in the written announcements. SHAD VALLEY SUMMER PROGRAM: Something different to do this summer. Shad Valley, Summer 2012 (July 1-July 27). Shad Valley is a four-week summer enrichment experience for students in Grades 10, 11 and 12. Download an application today at www.shad.ca/apply. GRADUATION INFO: The MT Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2012 will be held at Mother Teresa on Thursday June 28 at 1:00 pm. Each student will be given 2 tickets for guests. Students will be able to request extra tickets starting in May and will be informed whether they will get extra tickets, in early June. (JH –Oct 21)
UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO: Fall Campus Days are the open house events of the year. U of T St. George is Saturday, October 29th; U of T Mississauga is Sunday, October 30th and U of T Scarborough is Saturday, November 19th. (KW – Oct 21)
