Day 1 - H.S. & Day 3 - Gr. 7 & 8

WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

HEALING DAY:  Stars: The Light that Shines in the Darkness
Healing Day is our chance during lent to reflect on where each of us needs healing in our lives.
Schedule for the day:

·         Prayer over the P.A. in the morning

o    A reflection about our Healing Day stars and the context of the day. Teachers then read a short reflection. Students are asked to take a few moments at that time to receive a star and to think about what ways they need God’s light to shine in their lives.

·          Writing on the Stars

o    During homeroom the students will write one of three words on their stars. This word signifies where they need God’s healing in their lives. No one needs to see the word they choose.  They can choose Others, Faith or Self.

·         Symbolic Action in the Atrium

o    Each student will take his or her star to the atrium, where they are invited to hang them.

o    Grade 7 & 8 to follow schedule – see below

o    Senior students are invited to come to the atrium during class change or at lunch.  Please remember to bring your star with you. High school teachers are asked to encourage students to hang their star and can bring students down at any time.

Our sky of stars will hang in our Atrium over the chapel doors.  It will remind us of God’s light in our lives. (DH –Mar 4)
