Day 4 - Gr. 7 & 8 and Day 1 - H.S.

Grade 7 & 8 Opportunity: Grade 7/8 students interested in participating in the Legislative Page Program are encouraged to pick up information in room 322. Criteria for involvement in the program include: a level 4 academic standing, involvement in extracurricular & community activities, an interest in current affairs, good social skills, leadership, responsibility, maturity, commitment and teamwork.

Important information for all students attending the high school dance!!

1. Doors open at 6:45pm. No one will be admitted early.
2. There will be no re-entry. Once you leave, you are not allowed back in.
3. All students must have a student card.
4. Guests must have their own student card from their school.
5. Guests must arrive with their MT student host.
6. ALL BAGS will be searched.
7. All coats and bags must be checked at the coat check for the entire dance.
8. There is NO access to your lockers. (Even if they are close to the gyms!)
9. Doors close at 8:15 pm. There will be no one admitted after this time (unless previous arrangements have been made).

This is an excellent opportunity for students to obtain information from the Ontario universities that are not visiting Mother Teresa this fall.

University Information Program: Ontario's 20 universities will be presenting information on their programs, admission requirements, scholarships, etc. on Tuesday, October 17th at St. Peter H.S. in Orleans and on Wednesday, October 18 at Earl of March H.S. in Kanata from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. No registration is required. This is an excellent opportunity for students to obtain information from the Ontario universities that are not visiting Mother Teresa this fall.

Ottawa University Day: The University of Ottawa is holding its annual Ottawa University Day this Friday, October 20 at their downtown campus. There are over 150 workshops available to students as well as an admission information session. Volunteers Needed: On Friday, October 20 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. there will be a BARRHAVEN RED FRIDAY at Ken Ross' Independent grocery store in the parking lot. They are hoping for a huge turnout and what we need from the local high schools are volunteers to help with a lot of various things such as set up (tent, tables, chairs, etc) and then clean up. Go Eng Girl Event on Saturday! The 'Go Eng Girl' and 'Go Tech Girl' events are for young women in grades 7 - 10. The events take place this Saturday, October 14th at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa (Go Eng Girl programs) and Algonquin College (Go Tech Girl). Join thousands of young women across the province of Ontario in discovering the exciting fields of engineering and technology.

Go Eng Girl connects young women in grades 7 - 10 with female role models currently studying engineering and working as engineers. Participants will perform hands-on activities with their peers and mentors, tour cool engineering labs, check out student groups like Engineers Without Borders... and share a free pizza lunch with their new friends!
