If you wanted to design a SUPERHERO male & female school mascot, but didn't have enough time to get it done, here's your chance! If you'd like to see your design published in the yearbook, submit your entry on paper in the yellow folder in Student Services. MULTICULTURAL SHOW BUYOUT: Mother Teresa is very fortunate to have students with a variety of talents. Come and see your friends perform an act or walk in the fashion show, proudly displaying their heritage. The buyout show will occur on Thursday, October 29th during Period 1 for grades 7, 8, 9 and Period 2 for grades 10, 11, 12. So bring your $2 to either your homeroom (7,8,9) or period two (10,11,12) teacher by Thursday, October 29th and join in the celebration! (NR –Oct 29)

TAKE OUR KIDS TO WORK DAY: Wednesday November 4 is Take Our Kids to Work Day. This is a mandatory activity that all grade 9 students are to complete as a part of their Grade 9 curriculum. We ask that parents or guardians arrange for their son or daughter to accompany them to work on that day or to accompany a relative, friend or community host. Grade 9 classes will not be held on that day and the students should not come to school, as there will not be supervision for Grade 9 students. This day helps students to appreciate essential workplace skills and helps to develop an appreciation for the importance of staying in school and getting a high school diploma. GRADUATING STUDENTS/COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: A new policy surrounding Community Service Hours has been adopted at Mother Teresa High School. All graduating students must have completed their forty hours of community service by the date of the school prom if they intend to attend their graduation dance. This comes about as a result of the practice of some students who left their Community Service Hours to the last month of school and were not able to graduate in June. We are encouraging all our graduating students to submit their hours by May 14th, 2010. (NM –Nov 6)

LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS ON SAT. OCT 17TH: It's the Fall Cleanup the Capital road and wetland activity, at the wetlands on Lester Road. The area is home to four of Ontario's eight turtle species. Students are invited to collect from these turtles' habitat and along the road abutting the Greenbelt. Four + hours would work towards your volunteer hours. It's a wonderful opportunity to learn about the Greenbelt, The Turtles, and help in the efforts to protect them and their habitat. GO ENG GIRL 2009: This is an opportunity for Grade 7 to 10 girls across Ontario to visit their local university and learn about the wonderful world of engineering. Learn from women who are already studying or working in the field. Do hands-on activities, visit labs. This free event is taking place at the SITE Hall, University of Ottawa, 800 King Edward Avenue from 9 am to 1:30pm on Saturday, October 17th, 2009. STUDENT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Nepean Ringette Association is hosting its 22nd Annual Tournament November 19th-22, 2009. Some of the jobs available are: operating the penalty box doors during games, assisting with set up of sales displays, program sales, score keeping and time keeping (requires attendance at the training session), assisting area officials, change room clean up and more.....Opportunities are available at Merivale, Bell, Sportsplex and Walter Baker arenas.
