WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
COME CHEER ON OUR FOOTBALL TEAM! Today our Varsity Football Team has its first regular season game against Sacred Heart, here at 1:30pm. Since this is the first football game at Mother Teresa in two years and it is our only home game on a Friday afternoon throughout the regular season play, we will be having a "buy out" for all of our students, Grades 7 -12. Cost is $ 2. All high school Period Four teachers and intermediate Period Five teachers must take attendance on Friday afternoon, and only dismiss those who paid. Please send all money collected to the main office and record the names of your students who paid. We are not issuing tickets. Please do not dismiss until we make the announcement. (SD –Sep 18)

GRADUATING STUDENTS/COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: A new policy surrounding Community Service Hours has been adopted at Mother Teresa High School. All graduating students must have completed their forty hours of community service by the date of the school prom if they intend to attend their graduation dance. This comes about as a result of the practice of some students who left their Community Service Hours to the last month of school and were not able to graduate in June. We are encouraging all our graduating students to submit their hours by May 14th, 2010. (NM –Sep 25)

STAND UP TO BULLYING SQUAD: The first meeting for the STAND UP TO BULLYING SQUAD will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 16th (that’s TODAY!) in the Career Centre beside student services starting at 12:50, so bring your lunch! THE STAND UP TO BULLYING SQUAD began last year. They helped out with grade 7&8 activity day, ran a Bullying awareness week in November which is scheduled for Nov 15-21 this year, planned various speakers including organizing Rachel's Challenge to come to our school. If you are interested in joining our group that was formed last year we would love to have you. (TC –Sep 16)

PEER HELPERS: There will be an important meeting on Friday at lunch for anyone in grades 9-12 wishing to participate in Peer Helpers this year. Both returning students and new applicants are welcome. On September 19th 2009 Optihealth Wellness Centre, Greco Fitness and Children At Risk are partnering up to run the third annual Blast Off to Kids Wellness Day. This event is not for profit and the primary goal is to focus on kid’s health, safety and fitness. We are looking for volunteers who would enjoy helping us run this fun and educating event. These volunteers would be helping with flyer delivery, set up/ clean up, and running activities during the event. As our appreciation you will receive: Credit, Community Hours Form and Letter of Reference, a T- shirt, and Blast Off to Wellness Lunch & Drink.
