7/8 BBQ and Carnival: Grade 7 and 8 students will be buying their BBQ tickets in homeroom from Wednesday, May 23 to Tuesday, May 29. $5 will get you 2 hotdogs, a can of pop and a bag of chips plus 8 carnival game tickets. $4 is for the BBQ only. Carnival tickets will only be sold the afternoon of the Carnival at a price of $1 for 4 tickets. Please note that grade 7/8 students are NOT permitted to attend the high school dance. Get your BBQ tickets in homeroom today!!

Red Maple Club will meet on Thursday this week. Please bring permission forms for the year end celebration to the library.

Live It Up: A reminder to all members that there will be a meeting today at lunch in the Career Center to plan our Carnival Day activities. If you haven't done so already, please stop by room 103 this morning to pick up your Did You Know T-shirt.

Leprosy Fundraiser: Waffles, muffins, hot chocolate and coffee will be sold in the atrium from Wednesday morning to Friday morning of this week. You can buy 2 waffles for only $1! All proceeds will go towards curing someone of leprosy.

High School Dance and Year End Carnival: Student Council will be selling tickets for the Carnival BBQ and Heatwave Dance in the atrium before school and at senior lunch -- for high school students only. Skills Canada Bilingual Summer Camp: In the summer of 2007, Skills Canada – Ontario, working in partnership with various organizations across the province will be hosting for a seventh season, ‘Skills Work® For Youth,’ Employability Skills Camp for students entering Grades 7 or 8. These one week "Skills Work!® for Youth" Employability Skills Summer Camps run across Ontario throughout July and August from Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30 pm. Cost is $150.00 per week per participant. Volunteers Needed: From June 1 to 3 thousands of women and men will unite for one weekend and walk 60 kilometres through Ottawa in a bold display of courage and commitment. This history-making event is called The Weekend to End Breast Cancer. The money raised in The Weekend to End Breast Cancer will benefit The Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. We are still looking for plenty of Volunteers to take part in this amazing weekend. The Weekend to End Breast Cancer needs people like you for a couple of hours or a whole day to help with:

• Registration
• Pitching the tents and taking them down
• Ceremonies production
• Cheering on the Walkers
• And more!

Grade 7-12 Girls: Golf for Girls presents a full day of golf rules, clinics, lunch and the chance to play a few holes for only $10. It is on Tuesday, May 29th from 8:45- 2:30. Please pick up an information and registration form from Mrs. Coyle in room 302 before homeroom. Only 10 girls from each school can attend, so it is first come first served. It is designed for girls at any level of golf from beginners to advanced and clubs will be provided if necessary! Forms must be returned to room 302 by Wednesday, May 16th.

Stratford Festival 2007: The sixth annual trip to Stratford Ontario on Oct 2-4 next year is on! We will meet in the parking lot of the Barrhaven United Church on Jockvale Rd. (near the railway tracks) at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. This should take 2 hours maximum. We supply gloves and trash bags. Students should dress for the weather conditions. Those interested can just show up on Saturday.

NOTICE: There will be early dismissal today at 2:05 p.m. to allow for the High School parent/teacher interviews which take place from 2:30 – 5:00 and 6:00 - 7:30.

First EVER Mother Teresa Duathlon! What? Duathlon: run 1 km, bike 10 km , run 3 km (distances will be slightly adjusted) When? Wednesday, May 30th from 1 00 p.m. - 3 00 p.m. Who? Intermediate students. Medals and prizes will be awarded to participants. Please see Ms. McKenna for details.

Presentation: Renee Rathbone and Lauren Wong are presenting their findings from a day in Engineering at Carleton University. The presentation will take place on Friday during 7/8 lunch in room 211 (the Chemistry Lab). Future engineers are encouraged to attend...and bring your lunch.
