HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Do you care about global solidarity? SMT has a few subsidized spots available for students at the upcoming 'Youth 4 Others Advocacy Symposium'. The theme is Solidarity in a COVID 19 World. This is a virtual event on Oct. 23-24 where you will be able to listen to inspiring speakers, participate in meaningful workshops, and connect with others who are seeking to build a just future for all. Through solidarity, we can address vaccine inequity, global migration and social and ecological justice issues. Please contact our Chaplain, Leah through email or in-person for more information or to register.(LD Oct. 23)
Sr. Boys Volleyball: The first tryout for sr. boys
will be Wednesday and Thursday September 22nd/23rd at 1:50 in the Caf Gym.

The SMT Debate
Team will hold their first meeting Monday, September 27 at
3:30 pm. We will be meeting virtually to start, and are always looking for
new members. If you are interested in joining, please sign up outside room 100

Walking Buddy Needed - We are currently in need of a responsible student in Grade 9
- 12 who is interested in being a walking buddy for a gr. 8 SMT student
after school at 2:50. The student lives in the area of Farm Boy and
Adrienne Clarkson School. You can earn community service hours. If
you are interested and would like more information, please see Mrs.
Kirkham in Room 117. (KK Sept.24)
STUDENT SERVICES
Attention Grade 12s considering applying to
university in Ontario:
Please click on this link to access information
regarding the Ontario University Fair's virtual events happening this year. All
Ontario universities will participate in these events. The events are free and
anyone may attend. Each event will be divided up into four 30-minute sessions,
where students can learn about the universities of their choice and ask
questions.

In addition to these 2 events, Ontario universities continue to offer
their own virtual events and tours, webinars, chats and more. To see upcoming

Registration for the OCDSB Virtual Night School session is open and
closes on Monday, September 20th at 4pm. Classes run from September 23rd -
December 16th (Tuesday and Thursday evenings) from 5:30pm to 9:21pm. For
