WHOLE SCHOOL

Attention Ski and Snowboard Club Members: Don't forget to check your name on the list in the front window of the office to be sure you have a spot on the bus.  When you get to school Thursday mornings, bring your equipment to room 109 to store it there for the day. The door will be unlocked from 8:00-8:25. If you arrive late, you must make alternate storage options that do not involve the office. (KB Feb. 28)

Women in Trades - We are looking for 3 more students to attend the Algonquin open house for Women in Trades. This event is a full day on Feb 25th and there is no cost for the student. Students in grades 7-12 are invited to attend. Please see Mrs. McCarthy in Room 200 for a permission form or if you have any questions.  This event provides students the opportunity to integrate experiential workshops and networking with mentors. 
·      Features 2-3 hands-on rotations, and 1 mentor panel rotation
·      Mentor panel features 4-5 tradeswomen in a variety of careers. (KM Feb.7)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

7/8 Curling: Any grade 7/8 students interested in competing on the curling team, please attend a brief meeting at lunch Friday February 7th in room 231. (MM Feb. 7)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

ITALY 2021- Attention students in grade 8 to 11, we still have a few spots remaining on our trip to Italy next spring so don't delay. Go see Mr. Pelletier in room 110 or Mr. Nicoletti if you are interested in coming on this amazing trip. Forms are also outside his door in case he isn't there. (MP Feb.14)

Jr. Boys Volleyball: There will be a tryout for any grade 9 & 10 boys who are interested in playing Jr. Boys Volleyball on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 3-4:30 pm in the Wood floor gym. Please sign up outside of room 210. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Falsetto. (AF Feb. 12)

Attention all Tutors- If you were a tutor last semester, are tutoring, or would like to apply to be a tutor for second semester, you asked to attend a meeting this Friday Feb 7th at lunch in Room 200. Please see Mrs. McCarthy if you have any questions. (KM Feb.7)

Blood Donors: Any 17 year old interested in donating blood on Monday Feb. 24th in the morning, please see Ms. Soprovich in room 202 at lunch or after school. (SS Feb.14)

HS Schedules: Revised schedules for Semester 2 will be available through your my.mths.ca account as of Friday, January 31st at 3 p.m. Schedules posted before that time are tentative and rooms and periods are subject to change. Students looking for a change to their schedule must pick up a form in Student Services starting on Monday, Feb. 3rd.  Forms must be signed by a parent/guardian. Please note, changes are limited. The last day to schedule a change is Friday, February 7th. (LB Feb.7)

Animation Portfolio Workshop: Character Design Contest. 1st Prize - free APW tuition for the 2020-2021 session of classes. Winter 2020 Night School with the Public Board (OCDSB) registration forms have arrived.  Pick up a form from Student Services.  Once form is signed by you, parent/guardian and counsellor and you have the necessary documentation, you need to register at 440 Albert Street in Room E122B from Monday, January 20th to Friday, February 14th between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. Driver Education Program - Winter 2020 Registration runs until February 14, 2020. Students may register online at conted.ocsb.ca or by mailing/faxing/dropping off registration form to the Continuing Education Department (570 West Hunt Club Road). Registration forms are available for pick from Student Services. These forms are not to be returned to your school.  (KW Feb. 13)

The City of Ottawa will be accepting summer job applications for the 2020 Summer Employment Program from Monday, February 3rd to Friday February 28th.  Apply online atottawa.ca/careers. (KW Feb.28)

Concordia is having an Open House (concordia.ca/openhouse). Saturday, February 15th, 2020 from 10 am to 4 pm. Guided tours of campuses, info sessions, program reps.  It is also portfolio day.
