skiers and snowboarders: Reminder that ski club next week is on
Wednesday, February 26th. Equipment can still be stored in room 109 which will

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
The
7/8 Read-A-Thon is this Thursday, February 27th. Do not miss out on an amazing day of reading and fun with
special guest: Caroline Pignat. If you forgot to hand in your pledge sheet
and money to the Learning Commons, you can still do so before the end of
Wednesday.
The Learning Commons
will be closed all day on Thursday for the Read-A-Thon. There will be no
lunch passes and the Makerspace club will be cancelled on Thursday. Thank

The annual SMT Read-A-Thon is
on Thursday, February 27th. Do not miss out on an amazing day
of reading and fun, including a presentation/meet and greet
with award-winning author Caroline Pignat. Tuesday, February 25th will be the
final day to return payment and pledge sheets to the Learning Commons (online
payment will close on the 25th). To pick up a pledge sheet or for
more information, please stop by the main desk in the Learning Commons. Thank

Ottawa Safety Council is a non-profit organization that hires/trains/manages
the crossing guards. They are looking to hire for Beatrice Drive at
Calaveras Avenue on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 3:30 pm to 4:10 pm.
The pay is $16.75 per 40 minute shift. Training will be provided. Any senior

Nominations for the RBC
Spirit of the Capital Youth Awards are now open. Nomination packages have already been
sent by email to teachers. In order to be recognized, they must complete the
nomination form at www.youthottawa.ca/nominate. Any individual 21 and under as of
January 1, 2020 can receive an award. They must reside within the Ottawa
municipal limits. 7 award categories, 14 youth recipients, $1,000 bursary. See
