TITAN MONDAY- Monday, January 20th is TITAN Monday. Make sure to dress in your TITAN apparel!

There will be an important trip meeting for the Liberation of the Netherlands Europe Trip at lunch in room 202 on Friday, Jan. 17th at 11:30 am.  Please see Mrs. Hussey in room 204 if you are unable to attend.(AH Jan.17)

Classroom recycling and composting tip of the week:
Wet and dirty paper can contaminate an entire batch of recycling. Be sure to sort recycling properly to protect the integrity of the paper recycling. If paper products have any food on it, put it in the compost! (AP Jan. 17)

Have you ever wondered what happens backstage during a musical?  Well, now is your chance! Volunteers are needed to work on the set crew for this year's production of The Sound of Music! Anyone interested is asked to attend an important meeting at lunch on Tuesday, January 14th in the HS Drama Room (rm. 116).  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Laviolette. (LL Jan.14) 

Gr 8 - 11 students interested in attending this year's Mini Enrichment at various local universities (May 4 - 8, 2020 from 9 am to 3 pm daily) are asked to pick up an information letter and application form from Resource Rm 232. All applications are due no later than Thursday, December 19th, 2019. Please note: There are limited spots!

ATTENTION ALL SKIERS AND SNOWBOARDERS: Starting Monday, December 9th, you will be able to pick up a permission form in the office to join the Ski and Snowboard Club. This club will run Thursday, February 6th, Thursday, 13th, Thursday, 20th, and Wednesday, 26th 2020.  Payment is to be made via SchoolCashOnline, and all forms must be returned to Ms. Lebrun in room 130 by January 15th. The E-Waste Drive is here! 
When is the drive? It runs until January 17th.
What to bring in? Old/broken computers, laptops, cell phones, small appliances, charging cables, and any other electronic devices.
Why? Keep precious metals and other resources out of the landfill so they can be reused and prevent mining for resources required to make future electronics.
How? Collect E-Waste in your homerooms. On Fridays, when you have a significant enough amount to be weighed, bring your E-Waste down to room 109
Also: the top 7/8 and HS homerooms will win Timbits! (AP Jan 17)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

 There will be a boys 7/8 Futsal tryout Friday, January 17th from 3-4pm. Wood floor gym. (CN)

Any 7/8 girls interested in the Girls Ice Hockey team are to come to a brief meeting at the beginning of lunch on Thursday January 16th in front of Mr.Quinn's office(TQ Jan16)

7/8 Girls Futsal: Tryouts will be Wednesday, January 15th from 3-4pm. Please sign up outside of Mme Haucke's classroom (room 238). (KH Jan. 15)

Attention Gr. 12's, the Algonquin College Winter Open House is taking place on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 10:00am to 2:00pm.  Students and their parents/guardians are invited to attend Algonquin College's Winter Open House at the Ottawa Campus where they can: meet with professors and current students, ask questions about programs, check out the amazing facilities and speak with reps from our Perth and Pembroke Campuses. NYC 2020: All high school students who have signed up for this springs New York City trip are asked to attend a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, January 14th 2020 at the start of lunch in Room 136.  We will be choosing room assignments and giving you key trip updates. (MR Jan. 14)

Exam study help- All high school students are welcome to come to an Exam Prep session on Friday January 17th. This session will be during high school lunch (11:30-12:05) in the student services conference room. Come for some tips and tricks on how to study for and write exams ! (KM Jan.24)

Driver Education Program - Winter 2020  Registration runs until February 14, 2020. Students may register online at conted.ocsb.ca or by mailing/faxing/dropping off registration form to the Continuing Education Department (570 West Hunt Club Road). Registration forms are available for pick from Student Services. These forms are not to be returned to your school.  (KW Feb. 13)
The City of Ottawa will be accepting summer job applications for the 2020 Summer Employment Program from Monday, February 3rd to Friday February 28th.  Apply online atottawa.ca/careers. (KW Feb.28)
Post-secondary Applications: Reminder to all graduating students that the deadline to apply to university or college is fast approaching.  The university deadline is January 15 and the college deadline is February 1.  (EB Feb.1)

GRADE 12’s

If you are in grade 12 and are interested in a police career, there is a great opportunity for an RCMP training camp in Regina in the summer. All expenses paid. Please see Mr. Francoeur in room 103 or Ms. O'Sullivan in room 320 if you are interested. (MF Jan. 24)
