The E-Waste Drive is here!
When is the drive? It runs until January 17th.
What to bring in? Old/broken computers, laptops,
cell phones, small appliances, charging cables, and any other
electronic devices.
Why? Keep precious metals and other resources
out of the landfill so they can be reused and prevent mining for resources
required to make future electronics.
How? Collect E-Waste in your homerooms. On
Fridays, when you have a significant enough amount to be weighed, bring your
E-Waste down to room 109
Also: the top 7/8 and HS homerooms will win

Classroom recycling and composting tip of the week: Pizza
boxes, burger boxes, fry cups, most paper cups and other paper take-out
containers go in the compost, not the garbage or black bin! (AP Dec 6)

11th ("snow" date December 13) during HS lunch in the Atrium for
the Intro to Business - Entrepreneurship Competition. Purchase your

Canadian Coast Guard College
Presentation. Have
you ever thought about a career with the Canadian Coast Guard? If you would
like to learn more, a representative from the Canadian Coast Guard College will
be giving a short presentation on Wednesday, December 11 in room 203 during
Period 1. Key points of the talk include:
1) The Canadian Coast
Guard College offers two 4 year university degrees: marine engineering and
marine navigation.
2) Its
free (like RMC), everything is paid for (tuition, books, food,
lodging, uniforms) and you get paid to go ($400? per
month)
3) It costs nothing to
apply
4) You owe them 4
years upon completion and starting salary is currently $65K.
The presentation only
takes about 20 minutes. Please sign up with Mrs. Brownrigg in room 203 if

Why the Apprenship Pathway Matters: December
11th, 2019 at the OCA offices at 9 Antares Road, Industry leaders will be
discussing the Outlook of Construction in Ottawa for the next 5 years as well
as the many opportunities available in the construction industry. The OCA will
also be highlighting the new Youth Engagement component of the annual OCA
Construction Symposium & Trade Show.
