ITALY TRIP 2021--Spots are filling up so don't delay. Return your completed forms to Mr Pelletier in room 110. Ireland, England & Wales Trip (March Break 2021) - Any student currently in Grades 8 to11 are invited to pick up an information package about this exciting trip outside room 203 or 211. Starting Monday, November 11th, we will be collecting socks in support of the Barrhaven Legion's Socks for the Homeless campaign. Please put your donation of new socks in the box outside the caf at lunch. The box will be there during both high school and 7/8 lunch. The Barrhaven Legion's goal this year is to collect 20 000 pairs of socks to give to the homeless in Ottawa - let's help them meet this goal! (SG Nov. 15)

The Scholastic Book Fair is in the Learning Commons: Every year Scholastic provides several amazing books and gifts to purchase in our “bookstore” (Learning Commons Seminar Room). Both high school and intermediate students are welcome to drop by before, after school, or during the lunch hour. All funds raised are used to buy literacy resources for our Learning Commons. 7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

7/8- Cardboard Boat Challenge: Cardboard Boat Races is a fun event that tests the student’s ability to build a floating structure that will outperform all others in speed and weight challenges. Teams of four (one grade 7 team and one grade 8 team) are provided all the necessary materials to build a boat in just two hours. If you are interested or want more information, please feel free to come and see Mme Côté or Mr. Major. (MC Nov. 15)

7/8 Table Tennis: There will be 7/8 Table Tennis tryouts on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday of next week. Tryouts will be after school 3pm - 4pm in the Dance Studio. See schedule below.

Shad Canada is a STEAM (science, tech, engineering, arts, math) and entrepreneurship program for students in grades 10 and 11.  Labs, seminars, hands-on workshops, a hands-on challenge to develop a plan and prototype that solves a real-world issue. Acadia University is coming to Ottawa! We are holding a Parent-Student Information Night on November 19 at the RA Centre in Ottawa.Courtside A (2451 Riverside Dr, Ottawa, ON K1H 7X7) from 7-9 PM and we hope to see your students there. 200+ degree combinations, scholarship information, residences, and more! We will also have Alumni present who are living in the Ottawa area and sharing their personal experiences from their time at Acadia. If students are interested in applying, we will be waiving the application fee and offering on the spot admissions. LF volunteers - Christmas Kettles - The Salvation Army - November 15th to December 24th.
