Europe 2020: A mandatory meeting about The Liberation of The Netherlands Europe Trip May 2020 (England, The Netherlands, and Belgium) is taking place in Room 202 at lunch this Thursday, October 24th.  Please contact Mrs. Hussey (angela.hussey@ocsb.ca ) in room 204 or room 202 if you are unable to attend. (AH Oct. 24)
Italy 2021. Do you like food? Do like to travel? If so then this trip is for you. St. Anne Trip: there will be an interest meeting for a Mt. St. Anne/ Le Massif Ski trip on October 22 at lunch room 108. All grades are welcome. 9-12. (KM Oct. 22)

Ireland, Wales & England Trip in 2021!  We will be holding an information meeting for parents/guardians of any high school student interested in attending the Ireland, Wales & England International Trip from March 11-19, 2021 (March Break next year).  More information about the trip can be found here: www.explorica.ca/Brownrigg-7780

HS Girls Hockey: All High School girls interested in playing hockey this year are asked to attend a meeting on Tuesday, October 22nd, in room 110.  This meeting will decide if we have enough girls for a team this year so please make arrangements to attend. It will be a brief meeting. (MP Oct. 22)

Key Club!!  Any grade 9-12 students interested in leadership opportunities through community involvement, or who wish to complete their volunteer hours is welcomed to join Key Club! Meetings will be held on Thursdays at lunch in room 203. (LB Oct. 25)

STUDENT SERVICES

Shad Canada is a STEAM (science, tech, engineering, arts, math) and entrepreneurship program for students in grades 10 and 11.  Labs, seminars, hands-on workshops, a hands-on challenge to develop a plan and prototype that solves a real-world issue. Live on campus at a Canadian university in July. Focus Student Group - English Language Learners and other students requiring support.
The Program:
● Saturday learning will develop skills for improved literacy (oral communication,
reading and writing) and numeracy. Students will have opportunities to collaborate, leverage technology, develop study habits, improve learning skills. Students can prepare for EQAO testing, school day projects, tests, quizzes and culminating activities, etc. Students will have access to technology. Fitness activities will also be incorporated into the Saturday Learning Club. No cost to families. FREE to all students.
How to Register: Students currently enrolled in grades 8 or 9, 10. This program is designed for
students who are presently achieving at level 2 or lower. Regular attendance is required. Parents must complete and sign the required registration form. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

LF Volunteers: looking for fun, energetic students to help us out on our Canskate (Learn to Skate)sessions!!! You must be able to skate well. You will assist the Canskate coaches with the on ice program, for example helping skaters to their groups, helping skater skate, set up the items/toys on the ice and collecting name badges. We are looking for help on the following sessions:

LF Volunteers. Watson’s Mill in Manotick wants you to join their cast and crew for a truly haunting experience. They need volunteers who will scare our visitors and leave them frightened of things that go bump in the night.
Haunt Night volunteers will be needed for the evenings of October 24, 25, and 26 from 5pm – 10pm.
