It’s that time of the year again! The SMT
2018-2019 yearbook is now on sale. Go to
school cash online by May 18th to purchase your yearbook for $45. With a
yearbook in hand, you can remember your year here at SMT and look back on the
amazing things you have done this year! There are limited copies

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
7/8 Girls Touch Football:
Tryouts will take place after school from 3 - 4 pm on Tuesday, April 30 and
Wednesday, May 1. (MM May 1)
7/8 Chess: Any 7/8 students wishing to try out for the
chess team are asked to sign up at the following link: https://forms.gle/QZcEXBQBf9M8RfAr5
The tournament is May 13th, so please make sure you're available.
Try-outs will take place at lunch in room 235
April 30th, May 1st and May 2nd. Bring your lunch. (KS May 2)
Craft Club: The grade 7/8 craft club meets every Friday at lunch in
room 233. Bring your lunch and get ready to be creative! All grade
7 and 8 students welcome!

interested in learning about the Dual Credit Program with Algonquin College
next year. There will be an important information meeting to introduce
the program and its benefits on Friday,
May 3 at lunch (11:30am) in the Student Services Career Centre.

It's not too late to sign up for Costa Rica
2020! We invite any interested parents and students to attend an
information meeting about this opportunity on Wednesday, May 1, 2019
at 6:00pm in the Learning Commons. This trip is open to any
student currently in grade 9, 10 or 11. There are a limited number of
spaces available and spots will be given on a first come first serve

Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Carleton U - Alumni Park. Volunteers required at
7:30 am. Walk registration, family zone, cheerleaders, route

Summer Registration Forms from
the public board (OCDSB) have arrived in Student Services. Classes run July 3 to July
25, 2019. Class times are from 8:30 am to 3:35 pm. Student or parent must
bring completed signed forms (student/parent/guidance counsellor) to 400 Albert
Street, Room E122B. Monday to Friday, from April 8th to June 27th, 9:00 am to
4:30 pm. On Tuesdays, May 7 to June 25, the registration office is open until 7
pm.

URGENT- To all students who
have applied for Coop next year. Please send your resume to coop@mths.ca this

for you to fill out in room 320 (in the folder on the door) or you can fill out

applications (online and hard copy) is highly recommended in case there are any
technical difficulties. Coop interviews will start in a few weeks so get your application and

Brock University is holding a
two-day science experience for all students in grades 10 and 11 on May 9-10,
2019.
This is an opportunity to learn about diverse areas of science, careers in
science-related fields, perform hands-on science projects, meet and network
with professionals, experience residence life. Visit their website

Summer School registration forms are now available in Student Services. Register from March 6th to June 28th. All forms must be signed by
student, parent/guardian and guidance counsellor.

registration date is June 28th (9am to 1pm) and must be done at St. Nicholas
Adult High School located at 893 Admiral Avenue.
Young Women in Public Safety
Program will be held from July 15-19, 2019. Selected candidates will have the opportunity to
visit several federal public safety organizations in the National Capital Area,
such as: Canada Border Services Agency, Cdn Security Intelligence Service,
Correctional Service Canada, just to name a few. For more information,

leaflets in Student Services. Complete the application process through the
Federal Student Work Experience program.
