Drop off all your unwanted electronics (working or not) to be
responsibly recycled. As a special treat this year, Harvey and Vern's Soda will be joining us and providing samples of their
craft sodas.
This event is sponsored by the Nepean Junior 'A' Raiders, with all
proceeds to benefit Beth Donovan Hospice. (KZ Sept. 17)
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
Grade 7/8 Students are invited to visit the Learning
Commons before school. Lunch passes have to be signed
out every day.
Days for Gr.7/8 will alternate:
Mondays: Gr.7/8
Wednesdays & Fridays: Gr. 7 only
Tuesdays & Thursdays: Gr.8 only

Maple (the Grade 7/8 Book Club) is coming soon. Please
sign up in the Learning Commons.
Gr. 7/8 Cross-country Running Team: Any grade
7/8 students interested in trying out for the cross-country running team are
asked to sign up on the list outside of Mme Kinloch's room today – Friday,
September 9th. (room 232) More information regarding the try-outs/practices and the Meet will be
posted outside of room 232. (JK Sept. 16)
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
HS Girls Field Hockey: Any H.S. girls (grades 9-12)
interested in joining this year's Girls Field Hockey team are asked to come to
the try-outs on Tuesday, September
13th and Wednesday, September 14th.
No equipment necessary to try-out, however please wear regular phys-ed
attire and running shoes. See Ms. Pendergest in room 234 for more
information if needed. (CP Sept. 14)
Junior Girls Basketball: Any
grade 9 or 10 girls who are interested in trying out for the Junior Girls
Basketball Team are invited to come to the tryouts next week on Monday and Wednesday after
school (3:00-4:15pm). Any questions please

Honk’n Blow: Any High School students
who would like to volunteer at this years Honk'n Blow, there will be a meeting
on Tuesday, September 13th at 11:26
am in room 120.

Cappies: Students interested in writing for our award winning Cappies' team are
asked to come to Rm 138 at the start of lunch on Wednesday, September 14th. There are limited spots
available, so please be sure that you can commit to the expectations. See

Jr. Boys Soccer: Jr. Boys
soccer tryouts will be Thursday September 8th and
Tuesday September 13th from 3-4:15 on the field across the street from
the front entrance. If it is raining on Thursday, the first tryout will be moved to Monday September 12th.
Please listen to the end of day announcements. Full
soccer gear is required. Please see Mr. Gervasi in room 309 for more

HS LEADERSHIP CAMP: Would all students attending this years HS Leadership Camp please
attend a meeting on Monday,
September 12th in the chapel at lunch. If you cannot attend
this meeting please see Mrs. Byrne in room 311. (EB Sept. 12)
STUDENT SERVICES
The STUDENT SERVICES
WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool, including
information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers,
Graduation, Scholarships, etc.
The MT
Milk Bags Club will be running again this year. It's an easy way to get 30
minutes of community service right here at the school. The Club will meet on
Wednesdays, 11:30am to noon, in the Career Centre.
For more
information, please see Mrs. Watkinson in Student Services. It's time to turn
those milk bags into beautiful, colourful, comfy sleeping mats! (KW Sept. 30)
Fall 2016 Night School Program Registration Forms from the public board are now available in Student
Services. Registration dates are from now until September 16, 2016. Forms must be signed by a
counsellor. Once signed by all concerned, you must take the form along
with a student status sheet to 440 Albert Street, Room E122B during the day
between 9:00am and 3:30pm.
Please
note that on Thursday, September 1st and September 8th the
registration office will be open until 6:00pm. On Thursday,
September 15th, the registration office will be open until 7:30pm. (KW Sept. 15)
Any students interested in tutoring here at MT are asked to come to
Student Services to pick up an application. All subject areas are needed,
especially math. You can earn $10 an hour or tutor for your community service
hours. (MP Sept. 15)

The Ontario Universities' Fair (OUF) is the only event where you
can see all 21 Ontario universities in one place. It's a once-a-year, free
event where attendees can talk directly with senior university faculty and
representatives. The OUF takes place September 23-25, 2016, at the Metro
Toronto Convention
