Drop off all your unwanted electronics (working or not) to be
responsibly recycled. As a special treat this year, Harvey and Vern's Soda will be joining us
and providing samples of their craft sodas.
This event is sponsored by the Nepean Junior 'A' Raiders, with all

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Cappies: Students interested in writing for our award winning Cappies' team are
asked to come to Rm 138 at the start of lunch on Wednesday, September 14th. There are limited spots
available, so please be sure that you can commit to the expectations. See
Mrs. Simpson for more information. (JS Sept. 14)
Jr. Boys Soccer: Jr. Boys
soccer tryouts will be Thursday September 8th and
Tuesday September 13th from 3-4:15 on the field across the street from the front
entrance. If it is raining on Thursday, the first tryout will be moved to Monday September 12th. Please listen to the end of day announcements. Full soccer gear is required.

If you like to be outside, and feel the sun on your face as you run through the
trails, we have just the thing for you - CROSS
COUNTRY RUNNING! Sign-ups for the High School Cross Country Team will take
place at lunch every day of the first week in room 304. Please see Mrs.
Galbraith if you are interested and for information regarding the first
practice. (MG

Peer Helpers: If you're interested in participating
again this year, we are having a meeting, Friday September 9th, in room 310 at lunch. If you're newly
interested in joining, come as well. The club provides your student population
with useful tools and resources to get any assistance they might need
throughout the year! (PC Sept 9)
Swim Team: There will be a brief meeting for all
those interested in participating in room
310 at lunch on Thursday, September 8th. (PC Sept
8)
High School Football: Any grades 9 to 12 students
interested in playing football can pick up equipment after school today in room
119. Also, any students who need community service hours and want to help set
up at football practices and time keep during games are asked to go to room 119
after school today. (AC Sept. 6)
Vocal Ensemble: Any grades 7 to 12 students who
enjoy singing and are interested in joining the Mother Teresa Vocal Ensemble
are asked to come to a meeting on Thursday morning
at 8:15 in room 119. (AC Sept. 8)
New
York City Trip May 2017: Any grade 11 or 12 students interested in this
years New York City trip are asked to meet in Room 136 on Friday, September 9th
2016 at the start of lunch
(11:30am). If you have any questions or cannot make the

Senior Girls Basketball: There will be a SR girls basketball
tryout tomorrow (Wednesday, Sept. 7th) and Thursday
September 8th after school. (KM Sept.

School Boy’s Volleyball: Any high school boys interested in playing
volleyball this year please see Mrs. Brennan in Room 204 at 8:30am on Friday for a brief meeting to determine if

Students enrolled in the Band course (AMU
before school) are asked to report to Room 120
at 7:20 Thursday morning (Sept 8th) for your

Council: Any HS student interested in joining Student Council is
asked to come to a meeting on Thursday, Sept. 8 at 11:50 in room 311. (EB Sept. 8)
HS LEADERSHIP CAMP: Would all students attending this years HS Leadership Camp please
attend a meeting on Monday,
September 12th in the chapel at lunch. If you cannot attend
this meeting please see Mrs. Byrne in room 311. (EB Sept. 12)
STUDENT SERVICES
The STUDENT SERVICES
WEBSITE at ss.mths.ca is set up as an information tool, including
information about: Community Service Hours Opportunities, Courses, Careers,
Graduation, Scholarships, etc.
The MT
Milk Bags Club will be running again this year. It's an easy way to get 30
minutes of community service right here at the school. The Club will meet on
Wednesdays, 11:30am to noon, in the Career Centre.
For more
information, please see Mrs. Watkinson in Student Services. It's time to turn
those milk bags into beautiful, colourful, comfy sleeping mats! (KW Sept. 30)
Fall 2016 Night School Program Registration Forms from the public board are now available in Student
Services. Registration dates are from now until September 16, 2016. Forms must be signed by a
counsellor. Once signed by all concerned, you must take the form along
with a student status sheet to 440 Albert Street, Room E122B during the day
between 9:00am and 3:30pm.
Please
note that on Thursday, September 1st and September 8th the
registration office will be open until 6:00pm. On Thursday,
September 15th, the registration office will be open until 7:30pm. (KW Sept. 15)
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Any students interested in tutoring here at MT are asked to come to
Student Services to pick up an application. All subject areas are needed,
especially math. You can earn $10 an hour or tutor for your community service
hours. (MP Sept. 15)
