Student Powwow and Reconciliation Day: Any
Aboriginal students who are interested in attending an OCSB Powwow at
Immaculata High School on Friday, May 13th, please see Mrs. Villeneuve in room 102
for a permission form. There are 10 spaces available. (CV May 6)
A reminder to parents to please not do any
pick-ups (or have cars) in the traffic circle between 2:45-3:05pm. We
appreciate your understanding to this matter. (MC)
Learning
Commons Seminar Room - When not booked by a
class, The Learning Commons Seminar Room will be a designated quiet study
space.
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
The Grade 7/8 Gauss Waterloo Math Contest will be written on Wednesday, May 11th at 9:40-10:50 in the multi-purpose room. Students that have signed up to write will meet in the multi-purpose room at the beginning of 2nd period, there will be no call down. Practices continue on Tuesdays and Thursdays in room 339 at lunch. Past contests and solutions can be found on the University of Waterloo website for practice at home. (HL May 11)
Rehearsals for Diary of a Wallflower will take place at lunch
this week on the stage. Please meet promptly on Tuesday and Thursday at 12:20. After school rehearsals will
continue after school from 3:00-4:15 on

Mini-Enrichment: Students participating in mini-enrichment courses (May 2nd - May 6th) are reminded to attend their
orientation session this weekend (information available at:www.emcp-pmce.ca). See Mrs. McLaughlin in room 130 if

students signed up for the Waterloo math contest are invited to practice in
room 339 at lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays until the contest on May 11th. (HL

lunch passes or lunch clubs - the Learning Commons will be closed at lunch
from Wednesday, April 27th until Friday, May 6th, due to the

Marine Biology Excursion September 13-19, 2016: Current grade 10 and 11 students interested
in travelling to St. Andrew's, New Brunswick in September, 2016 for a marine
biology excursion, please see Ms. D'Angela following announcements today.
The excursion takes place from September 13th-19th. (ED May 5)
Belize Trip 2017! Attention all MT
Adventurers! There is a meeting Wednesday, May 11th at
11:30 in room 117 for all students interested in
the Belize trip next year. This is a highly adventurous
trip and is for grade 12's only. If you would enjoy exploring
rainforests, unique cave and river systems, sleeping in beautiful huts on the
beach, snorkelling along a spectacular coral reef, sea kayaking, and stand up
paddle boarding, this trip is for you! Please see Mrs. Ragaisis

Aspiring Teenage Artists! Continuing Ed Creative Arts Studio
Summer Program for 12-16 year olds. It's happening at Mother Teresa High
School from July 18 - 22. Register now online at: conted.ocsb.ca See

Summer School Registration: The summer registration forms are now available in Student Services and
must be signed by your counsellor. Classes run from July 6th to July 28th,
2016. ELearning classes start from July 4th to July 28th. Coop
and the Driver's Education program are also available in Summer
School.
Students cannot
register in a Make-Up course to upgrade a passing mark. Catholic School
Board registration: ongoing until June 29th. Public
Board registration deadlines: Reach Ahead registration dates are
from May 2nd to June 10th. Make Up registration dates are
from May 2nd to June 29th.
eLearning
registration dates are from April 4th to June 10th. (JH June 30)
Registration
forms for summer school for the Ottawa Catholic School Board are now available
in Student Services. Classes will run from July 4 to July 25.
Forms must be approved by your guidance counsellor. Forms without this
approval will not be accepted. Pre-register for this program by June
28, 2016. (KW June 28)
The
Nepean Eagles Football Club is looking for cheerleading coaches to teach
cheers and half-time dance routines to Junior (7-12) and Senior (13-16)
squads. Spring Camp is taking place on May 24, 25, and 26 followed
by regular season in mid-July until early November. Cheerleaders practise
Tuesdays and Thursdays at Bob Stephen Park (Barrhaven). For more information

Volunteer Opportunities for students at Waupoos Family Farm.
Come see information
sheet in Student Services for job descriptions. Summer volunteer
opportunities include assisting with programming,
cottage clean-up, laundry, animal care, gardening, weeding, painting, crafts,
outdoor games, etc. Mondays to Saturdays available. Summer volunteers are
encouraged to participate one day per week, for 6 to 8 weeks. Interview
and police check required. Must be a minimum of 14 years to apply as a

Barrhaven Ball Hockey Tournament on May 15, 2016. Volunteer
positions available pre-event (paperwork collection, distribution of event
posters) and event day (Scoreboard, thirst station, set up, clean up,
scorekeepers, runner, referees) Need more students aged 14,15,16 to put up teams for this fun event. Deadline

account. There are no guarantees you will receive the number you request -
check in Student Services the first week of June to confirm the exact number of

Scholarships
and Bursaries – Graduates. The Stittsville District Lions Club is awarding scholarships/bursaries
to five first year college or university youth. The scholarship is worth
$1000.
