Co-President Elections: All students in Grades 7-11 will be voting for Student Council
Co-Presidents in homeroom on Friday, May 27th. Voting will take
place in my.mths.ca between 8:30am and
11:30am ONLY. If you are absent from school you can still
vote! Candidate speeches will be presented in homeroom Wednesday, May

A reminder to all students: Please
refrain from parking your bike behind the school. There is a designated area in
front of the school where bikes can be safely parked. When you park at the back

7/8 Girls Softball: Tryouts
will take place from 3 to 4 on the following dates, Grade 7s Wednesday, May 25th and
Grade 8sThursday, May 26th. Tryout on Friday, May 27th for
those who make the first cut. If you can't make your grade's tryout, come
to the other grade's tryout. (KS May 27)
7/8 Boys Softball: Any 7/8 boys interested in trying out for the
boys softball team are asked to sign up outside of Mr. Quinn's P.E. office by Thursday May 19. (TQ May 19)

Biomedical Engineering: Any students
in Grades 10-12 interested in studying Biomedical Engineering are
encouraged to attend a free presentation at Carleton University's River
Building on Sunday,
May 29 from 1:00-6:00.
The presentation is expected to; explain what Biomedical Engineering is; define
the fields in which it is practiced; give opportunity to meet and network with
Undergraduate and Graduate Students; tour the faculty; and attend the
Biomedical Engineering design competition. Registration for the free

Trent University - DNA Forensic
Science Camp - Tailored towards students 13-18 years of age, this camp is ideal for
those with a keen interest in science and forensics.

Aspiring Teenage Artists! Continuing Ed Creative Arts
Studio Summer Program for 12-16 year olds. It's happening at Mother

Summer School Registration: The summer registration forms are now available in Student Services and
must be signed by your counsellor. Classes run from July 6th to July 28th,
2016. ELearning classes start from July 4th to July 28th. Coop
and the Driver's Education program are also available in Summer
School.
Students cannot
register in a Make-Up course to upgrade a passing mark. Catholic School
Board registration: ongoing until June 29th. Public
Board registration deadlines: Reach Ahead registration dates are
from May 2nd to June 10th. Make Up registration dates are
from May 2nd to June 29th.
eLearning

Registration
forms for summer school for the Ottawa Catholic School Board are now available
in Student Services. Classes will run from July 4 to July 25.
Forms must be approved by your guidance counsellor. Forms without this
approval will not be accepted. Pre-register for this program by June

The
Nepean Eagles Football Club is looking for cheerleading coaches to teach
cheers and half-time dance routines to Junior (7-12) and Senior (13-16)
squads. Spring Camp is taking place on May 24, 25, and 26 followed
by regular season in mid-July until early November. Cheerleaders practise
Tuesdays and Thursdays at Bob Stephen Park (Barrhaven). For more information

Volunteer Opportunities for students at Waupoos Family Farm.
Come see information
sheet in Student Services for job descriptions. Summer volunteer
opportunities include assisting with programming,
cottage clean-up, laundry, animal care, gardening, weeding, painting, crafts,
outdoor games, etc. Mondays to Saturdays available. Summer volunteers are
encouraged to participate one day per week, for 6 to 8 weeks. Interview
and police check required. Must be a minimum of 14 years to apply as a

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
St. Brigid's Summer
camp is in need of male counsellors ages 16- 18 and leaders in training ages
14- 16 for the month of July. The paid counselor position would be from July
4- July 29, 2016 (Mon- Fri). The volunteer leader in training program
is a two week program where students can improve their leadership skills and
get community service hours, the session dates for the male leader in training
program are July 4 to 15, 2016 for the first session and July
18 to 29, 2016 for the second session.
Odyssey Theatre offers a summer apprenticeship
program that combines learning, fun and a little income for teens with an
interest in the arts. Youths receive training in mask and Commedia, placements
and mentorship in a professional environment. The program offers up to 10 young
people between the ages of 14–21 apprenticeships with a professional theatre
company that allows them to explore and expand their artistic interests,
develop their skills and prepare for a possible career in the arts. Visit their

GRAD DAY: Get
your Grad Day Team registered with Mrs. Byrne, this Thursday and Friday, at lunch in the atrium.
Come with a team of up to 10 people. If you don't have a team, no
problem, come see her anyways. If you have any questions, please see Mrs.

Graduation Guest Tickets. Each Graduate receives 2
tickets for their guests. You can request extra guest tickets through your
my.mths.ca
account. There are no guarantees you will receive the number you request -
check in Student Services the first week of June to confirm the exact number of
tickets you will receive.
Scholarships
and Bursaries – Graduates.. The Stittsville District Lions Club is awarding scholarships/bursaries
to five first year college or university youth. The scholarship is worth
$1000. The deadline to apply is May 20. Please
