WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Sister Act Callback Auditions begin June 1st and continue to Monday, June 13th. If you received a
callback notice please be sure to sign up for your preferred audition
date. The sign-up sheet is located on the stage door. (RL June 13)
We are excited to announce that MT will be hosting its very first Arts Gala on Thursday, June 9th starting
at 6:30pm. The Gala will showcase samples of student work and
celebrate our accomplishments in the Arts this year. The reception will
begin at 6:30pmand will include an art gallery featuring many pieces of
art and photography. Some appetizers will be served before the gala performance
begins at 7:00pm. The show will take place in the cafetorium and will
feature many performances from our music, dance, drama, and media classes.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted at the door to help support
our Arts program. We look forward to seeing you there! (LL June 9)
Students with overdue books and fines are asked to go to the Learning
Commons after morning announcements. (MP June 3)
A reminder to all students: Please
refrain from parking your bike behind the school. There is a designated area in
front of the school where bikes can be safely parked. When you park at the back
of the school, you are doing so at your own risk! (MC June 30)
A reminder to parents to please not do any pick-ups (or have cars) in the traffic circle
between 2:45-3:05pm. We appreciate your understanding in this matter. (MC)

7/8 Girl's Softball: Tryouts
for Girl's Softball this week will take place Wednesday, June 1st and Friday, June 3rd after
school from 3 to 4. (KS June 3)
Red
Maple Club - A reminder to all members of the Red Maple Club
that permission forms for next week's trip are due this Wednesday, June 1st. Please return your
signed forms and $5 to the Learning Commons staff. Thank you. (NBD June 1)
Math
Munchers is now closed for the year. Thank you to all students and staff who
have given up their time to support the learning and understanding of
mathematics. If you require further support in June, please make

Attention 7/8 Boys Softball
Players: the tryout
dates are as follows: Grade 7 boys tryout dates; Monday
May 30, and Tuesday May 31. Grade 8 boys tryout dates; Wednesday

School Athletic Banquet: will be hosted here at MT on Wednesday, June 8th. Dinner

Trent University - DNA Forensic
Science Camp - Tailored towards students 13-18 years of age, this camp is ideal for
those with a keen interest in science and forensics.

Aspiring Teenage Artists! Continuing Ed Creative Arts
Studio Summer Program for 12-16 year olds. It's happening at Mother

Summer School Registration: The summer registration forms are now available in Student Services and
must be signed by your counsellor. Classes run from July 6th to July 28th,
2016. ELearning classes start from July 4th to July 28th. Coop
and the Driver's Education program are also available in Summer
School.
Students cannot
register in a Make-Up course to upgrade a passing mark. Catholic School
Board registration: ongoing until June 29th. Public
Board registration deadlines: Reach Ahead registration dates are
from May 2nd to June 10th. Make Up registration dates are
from May 2nd to June 29th.
eLearning

forms for summer school for the Ottawa Catholic School Board are now available
in Student Services. Classes will run from July 4 to July 25.
Forms must be approved by your guidance counsellor. Forms without this

Volunteer Opportunities for students at Waupoos Family Farm.
Come see information
sheet in Student Services for job descriptions. Summer volunteer
opportunities include assisting with programming,
cottage clean-up, laundry, animal care, gardening, weeding, painting, crafts,
outdoor games, etc. Mondays to Saturdays available. Summer volunteers are
encouraged to participate one day per week, for 6 to 8 weeks. Interview
and police check required. Must be a minimum of 14 years to apply as a volunteer.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
LF 6-8 volunteers to help with the move of jerseys for Nepean Minor
Hockey Association. We are moving the jerseys from Greenbank Road to Dymon
Storage on Hunt Club.
I am looking for volunteer students for my summer arts camp called
Aspiring Artists Summer Camp. This is a fun opportunity right here at Mother

LF 60 Volunteers! HOPE Volleyball, July 16th, 2016, Mooney's Bay, all
day.
Shifts are: 7am to 11am; 10:30am to
2:30pm, 2pm to 6pm. All volunteers are required to attend an
orientation on July 13th, will
receive a HOPE shirt, will be given BCA (Breast Cancer Action) cap and goody
bag, a draw for prizes and an invitation to a HOPE volunteer thank you party

The Ottawa Ferrari Festival is back
this June 17-19, 2016. 21 community hours available.
Work as many 3-hour shifts as you like. Ball cap, t-shirt and food
and drink are all provided.

St. Brigid's Summer camp is in need of male counsellors ages 16- 18 and
leaders in training ages 14- 16 for the month of July. The paid counselor
position would be from July 4- July 29, 2016 (Mon- Fri). The
volunteer leader in training program is a two week program where students
can improve their leadership skills and get community service hours, the
session dates for the male leader in training program are July 4 to 15,
2016 for the first session and July 18 to 29, 2016 for the
second session.
Odyssey Theatre offers a summer apprenticeship
program that combines learning, fun and a little income for teens with an
interest in the arts. Youths receive training in mask and Commedia, placements
and mentorship in a professional environment. The program offers up to 10 young
people between the ages of 14–21 apprenticeships with a professional theatre
company that allows them to explore and expand their artistic interests,
develop their skills and prepare for a possible career in the arts. Visit their

to five first year college or university youth. The scholarship is worth
