WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Lost and Found - items from lost and found will be set out Monday morning in the atrium. Students and parents are encouraged to check the items prior to Friday. Items will be packed up and delivered to charity Friday afternoon. (SS March 11)

A reminder to parents to please not do any pick-ups (or have cars) in the traffic circle between 2:45-3:05pm. We appreciate your understanding to this matter. (MC)

Any Students who wanted to order a yearbook but did not do so in the Fall, will have another opportunity between February 29th and March 11th. The Yearbook staff will be available in the atrium over the lunch hours to take orders. A reminder.... the yearbooks are $40.00 and can be paid for with on-line payment, by cheque or with cash. Don’t miss out! Plan to get your yearbook during the first week of March. 7/8 students can come to the office to pay cash or cheque during their lunch. Also, if you are unsure as to whether or not you purchased a yearbook for your child(ren), you can look in your online banking profile in the payment history. This is available whether you paid online or not. (AP March 11)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

Attention 7/8 Futsal Players: The game scheduled for yesterday (Wednesday) that was cancelled due to inclement weather has been rescheduled to Friday at lunch be sure to check the schedule to know when you are playing. (KB March 11)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

High School Badminton practice will be this Wednesday and Thursday 7:30-8:30 in the Caf gym. (RB March 10)

Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) for grade 10 students will be written on Thursday, March 31st during both periods 1&2. The test has 2 sections (75 min/section) All students will have preparation during their English classes but students who would like some extra tips/help or who had English during the first semester and would like some last minute help or tips are welcome to see Mrs. Brady in 201.  All students are encouraged to visit http://www.eqao.com/en for more information. Student Services Appointments: Students in grade 9 -12 who wish to meet with their Guidance Counsellors now make appointments on-line through their my.mths.ca account. The appointment time will be sent to the student's school email account. Students should be checking their email regularly. Students in grade 7&8 are asked to continue to make the appointment request in Students Services. (JH March 11)

Summer Job and Volunteer Opportunities for students at Waupoos Family Farm.
Come see information sheet in Student Services for job descriptions. Summer volunteer opportunities include assisting with programming, cottage clean-up, laundry, animal care, gardening, weeding, painting, crafts, outdoor games, etc. Mondays to Saturdays available.  Summer volunteers are encouraged to participate one day per week, for 6 to 8 weeks.  Interview and police check required. The City of Ottawa Parks, Recreation & Culture and Hummingbird Music are hosting the 35th Annual Student Showcase at the Centrepointe Theatre - Studio Theatre, 101 Centrepointe Drive, Saturday, April 23, 2016, from 5pm to midnight. Showcase your talent in Battle of the Bands, Singer Songwriter, Poetry Slam

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

LF Voluneteers for Run for Reach: We are pleased to invite your school to participate in the 31st annual Run for Reach, taking place on Sunday April 10, 2016 at City Hall. We would like to offer your students a unique and exciting opportunity to obtain their volunteer credits for their high school diploma. Volunteer positions include Set Up / Tear Down, Information Booth, On Route – barricades & water and more. Bands, duos and trios are also invited to play music for the participants and spectators along the Rideau Canal. By volunteering on race day, students will have the chance to win a great prize in our Volunteer Appreciation Raffle. LF Volunteers for CN Cycle for CHEO: On Sunday, May 1, 2016 we are holding our annual CN Cycle for CHEO, the hospital’s largest pediatric cancer fundraising event which last year raised over $942,000 for CHEO.  Funds raised are used to support lifesaving cancer research and treatment at CHEO.  This fun, non-competitive event offers a wide range of cycling (15K, 35K, 70K) and walking (2K, 5K) routes for people of all ages and abilities.  In order to make this a safe and enjoyable event, we need many volunteers especially Route Assistants!  Please log on to www.cncycle.ca , check out the position descriptions and sign up today!  You will receive an automatic confirmation e-mail when you register on-line, confirming the time and area for

Important Information Regarding Prom 2016: As of March 1st, on-line payment will be available for prom tickets ($85 each). Tickets will also be available for sale, in person, from March 28 - April 1 in the Atrium and can be paid for with cash or cheque (made out to Mother Teresa High School). Grade 12 students wishing to purchase tickets must first visit my.mths and register for prom. Students will not be given their tickets until their account with the school is cleared, their community service hours have been documented and they have returned their signed prom agreement.
