WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
MT Musical Theatre – It’s been over two years since
Mother Teresa High school put on its last musical production and it’s time now
to start thinking about doing one for next year, but……. we need your
help! We need you, the grade 8 to 11 students of Mother Teresa High
School, to help us decide what show to choose. We need those of you who
are singers, actors, instrumentalists as well as those interested in working
behind the scenes to come to the stage after school at 3pm on Monday, March 7th and show us what sort of talent base
we have and just how big a show we can do. Keep the music theatre
tradition alive at MT. Be There! (RL March 7)
A reminder to parents to please not do
any pick-ups (or have cars) in the traffic circle between 2:45-3:05pm. We
appreciate your understanding to this matter. (MC)
Any Students who wanted to order a yearbook but did not do so in the
Fall, will have another opportunity between February 29th and March 11th. The Yearbook
staff will be available in the atrium over the lunch hours to take orders. A reminder.... the yearbooks are $40.00 and
can be paid for with on-line payment, by cheque or with cash. Don’t miss
out! Plan to get your yearbook during the first week of March
Also, if you are unsure as to whether or not
you purchased a yearbook for your child(ren), you can look in your online
banking profile in the payment history. This is available whether you paid

spaces at the front of the building are for those visiting our school, they are

class, The Learning Commons Seminar Room will be a designated quiet study
space.

Boys Basket Practice: Tuesday, March 1st
at 3:00 in the cafeteria gym. There will be a team meeting on Thursday, March 3rd
at 12:20 in room 240. (GR March 3)

Boys Hockey: There will be a practice on Thursday,
March 3rd, 2016, from 4:00-5:00pm at Minto Recreation Complex Barrhaven (North Rink).
Please let Mme Beraldin know if you cannot attend. Boys should not be signing

York City trip in May - these spots are open to male
students - if you are in grade 11 or 12 and are
interested in joining the trip please see Mr. Rowley in Room 136 for more

sales will be today (March 1) at lunch in the atrium. Make sure you have
your signed permission form with you when purchasing. Tickets are
$2. See Mr. Gervasi in room 309 for more details. Come out and cheer on the H.S boys' hockey team today after school at 3:30 @ Sportsplex #2 (arena at the back) where they play the

Grade 9-12 students: On Sunday March
20th, Engineer’s Without Borders Carleton will be hosting their second annual
Global Engineering Youth Summit (GEYS). GEYS is a one day conference for high-school
students where they have the opportunity to visit Carleton University and learn
about the impact of engineering on a global scale. The day’s events
include multiple workshops themed around topics such as aeronautics,
improvement in medical devices, women in engineering, technical design and
political impact. Students will also attend a keynote speech from a speaker
influential in the global engineering community. The event is held at no charge
for the students, includes lunch and will be held locally on Carleton

Student Services Appointments: Students in grade 9 -12
who wish to meet with their Guidance Counsellors now make appointments on-line
through their my.mths.ca account. The appointment time will be
sent to the student's school email account. Students should be checking their
email regularly. Students in grade 7&8 are asked to continue to make the
appointment request in Students Services. (JH March 11)

Graduation, Scholarships, etc.

Summer Job and Volunteer
Opportunities for
students at Waupoos Family Farm.
Come see information sheet in
Student Services for job descriptions. Summer volunteer opportunities include assisting
with programming, cottage clean-up, laundry, animal care, gardening, weeding,
painting, crafts, outdoor games, etc. Mondays to Saturdays available.
Summer volunteers are encouraged to participate one day per week, for 6 to 8
weeks. Interview and police check required. Must be a minimum of 14 years

are hosting the 35th Annual Student Showcase at theCentrepointe
Theatre - Studio Theatre, 101 Centrepointe Drive, Saturday,
April 23, 2016, from 5pm to midnight. Showcase your talent in Battle
of the Bands, Singer Songwriter, Poetry Slam
Competitions for High School Youth. Entry Deadline is March 15,
2016. Auditions are March 22-23, 2016. For

Important Information Regarding Prom
2016: As of March 1st, on-line payment will be available for prom tickets ($85
each). Tickets will also be available
for sale, in person, from March 28 - April 1 in the Atrium and can be paid
for with cash or cheque (made out to Mother Teresa High School). Grade 12
students wishing to purchase tickets must
first visit my.mths and register for prom. Students will not be given
their tickets until their account with the school is cleared, their community
service hours have been documented and they have returned their signed prom
