A sum of money was found near the main entrance on Wednesday, February 10th. If you have lost any money
please come to the main office for more information. (MC Feb. 19)
Any Students who wanted to order a yearbook but did not do so in the
Fall, will have another opportunity between February 29th and March 11th. The Yearbook
staff will be available in the atrium over the lunch hours to take orders. A reminder.... the yearbooks are $40.00 and
can be paid for with on-line payment, by cheque or with cash. Don’t miss
out! Plan to get your yearbook during the first week of March
Also, if you are unsure as to whether or not
you purchased a yearbook for your child(ren), you can look in your online
banking profile in the payment history. This is available whether you paid

A reminder that the visitor parking
spaces at the front of the building are for those visiting our school, they are

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
Due to this week's snow days, pledges for the READ-A-THON are
now due on Tuesday, Feb. 23rd. Please bring your pledge form and money to the Learning
Commons, in order to register for the Read-A-Thon event which takes place
all day on Thursday,
Feb. 25th. Wear your PJs/comfy clothing and READ for FUN all day long.
Prizes will be awarded throughout the day. We look forward to seeing you soon.

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Grade 9-12 students: On Sunday March
20th, Engineer’s Without Borders Carleton will be hosting their second annual
Global Engineering Youth Summit (GEYS). GEYS is a one day conference for
high-school students where they have the opportunity to visit Carleton
University and learn about the impact of engineering on a global scale. The
day’s events include multiple workshops themed around topics such as
aeronautics, improvement in medical devices, women in engineering, technical
design and political impact. Students will also attend a keynote speech from a
speaker influential in the global engineering community. The event is held at
no charge for the students, includes lunch and will be held locally on Carleton

Curling Teams: We will hold our season ending pizza party celebration
on Friday, February 19th
during lunch in room 313. Please return all sliders to Mrs. Robinson
BEFORE the party. Let one of the coaches know if you cannot attend.

Student Services Appointments: Students in grade 9 -12
who wish to meet with their Guidance Counsellors now make appointments on-line
through their my.mths.ca account. The appointment time will be
sent to the student's school email account. Students should be checking their
email regularly. Students in grade 7&8 are asked to continue to make the
appointment request in Students Services. (JH March 11)
After
School Literacy Class: The classes begin (Tuesday Feb. 2) at
3 pm in room 135. All students interested in preparing to write the Ontario
Secondary School Literacy Test are welcome to attend. Please drop your
permission form to Mrs. Watkinson in Students Services. (AB)

are hosting the 35th Annual Student Showcase at theCentrepointe
Theatre - Studio Theatre, 101 Centrepointe Drive, Saturday,
April 23, 2016, from 5pm to midnight. Showcase your talent in Battle
of the Bands, Singer Songwriter, Poetry Slam
Competitions for High School Youth. Entry Deadline is March
15, 2016. Auditions are March 22-23, 2016.
