MT Musical Theatre – It’s been over two years since Mother Teresa High school put on its last musical production and it’s time now to start thinking about doing one for next year, but……. we need your help!  We need you, the grade 8 to 11 students of Mother Teresa High School, to help us decide what show to choose.  We need those of you who are singers, actors, instrumentalists as well as those interested in working behind the scenes to come to the stage after school at 3pm on Monday, March 7th and show us what sort of talent base we have and just how big a show we can do.  Keep the music theatre tradition alive at MT.  Be There! A reminder to parents to please not do any pick-ups (or have cars) in the traffic circle between 2:45-3:05pm. We appreciate your understanding to this matter. (MC)
Any Students who wanted to order a yearbook but did not do so in the Fall, will have another opportunity between February 29th and March 11th. The Yearbook staff will be available in the atrium over the lunch hours to take orders. A reminder.... the yearbooks are $40.00 and can be paid for with on-line payment, by cheque or with cash. Don’t miss out! Plan to get your yearbook during the first week of March
Also, if you are unsure as to whether or not you purchased a yearbook for your child(ren), you can look in your online banking profile in the payment history. This is available whether you paid online or not. (AP March 11)

7-8 Boys Hockey: There will be a practice on Thursday, March 3rd, 2016, from 4:00-5:00pm at Minto Recreation Complex Barrhaven (North Rink). Please let Mme Beraldin know if you cannot attend. Boys should not be signing out of school early for this. (JB March 3)

MT Harmony Equity and Inclusion: We are looking for students to discuss and bring fresh ideas to equity and inclusion at our school. We are a dynamic group of people with a mission to ensure everyone feels included here at MT. We will have our first 2016 meeting in room 310 at lunch on Wednesday, March 1st. Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) for grade 10 students will be written on Thursday, March 31st during both periods 1&2. The test has 2 sections (75 min/section) All students will have preparation during their English classes but students who would like some extra tips/help or who had English during the first semester and would like some last minute help or tips are welcome to see Mrs. Brady in 201.  All students are encouraged to visit http://www.eqao.com/en for more information. Grade 9-12 students: On Sunday March 20th, Engineer’s Without Borders Carleton will be hosting their second annual Global Engineering Youth Summit (GEYS). GEYS is a one day conference for high-school students where they have the opportunity to visit Carleton University and learn about the impact of engineering on a global scale. The day’s events include multiple workshops themed around topics such as aeronautics, improvement in medical devices, women in engineering, technical design and political impact. Students will also attend a keynote speech from a speaker influential in the global engineering community. The event is held at no charge for the students, includes lunch and will be held locally on Carleton University’s Campus.  Apply online before March 6th:  www.carleton.ewb.ca/youth-summit/  See Ms. D'Angela in room 211 at the beginning of period 2 for further info. Student Services Appointments: Students in grade 9 -12 who wish to meet with their Guidance Counsellors now make appointments on-line through their my.mths.ca account. The appointment time will be sent to the student's school email account. Students should be checking their email regularly. Summer volunteer opportunities include assisting with programming, cottage clean-up, laundry, animal care, gardening, weeding, painting, crafts, outdoor games, etc. Mondays to Saturdays available.  Summer volunteers are encouraged to participate one day per week, for 6 to 8 weeks.  Interview and police check required. Reward:  up to 40 volunteer hours available
