Homeroom Challenge: Help the homeless with a “Clean”
Start to the New Year. Join us for the Shepherds of Good Hope
Toiletries Collection. Over 6500 people in Ottawa experienced homelessness in
2014. Almost 1000 16-25 years used a shelter in 2014. Help those in need and bring the
following items to your homeroom: Shampoo, Soap, Toothpaste, Lotion, Toilet
paper, Kleenex, Deodorant, New Socks, New Underwear. The homeroom
with the most collected (by weight) by Friday, January 15th will win
a Pizza Party! (SM Jan. 15)
Update to Allerject
Voluntary Recall Replacement Procedures: Important Allerject Information: Following the October 28, 2015
voluntary recall by Sanofi Canada of all lots of Allerject epinephrine
auto-injectors and the announcement earlier this month that the stock of
alternative epinephrine auto-injectors is now sufficient to replace all
Allerject devices in Canada, we remind you of the following:
- Immediately
return all Allerject devices to your local pharmacy.
- All
Allerject epinephrine auto-injectors returned by patients to their
pharmacist with an expiry date between October 2015 and December 2016
inclusively continue to be eligible for replacement at no cost to the
patient.
- Please provide the school with a replacement (if you haven’t already

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
Please dress
warmly everyday for outside recess. Unless told otherwise,
everyone will be outside for the last 20 minutes of lunch. (MR Feb. 1)
Any 7/8 girl interested in playing on the 7/8 Girls Hockey Team is asked to sign up with Mr. Quinn in the gym
by Friday January 15th. Further information regarding ice

- IMPORTANT: A first cut will be made after each first try-out and those

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Envirothon Competition - all
Environmental Science students semester 1 (Ms. Ragasis) and semester 2 (Ms.
Soprovich) are asked to attend a short meeting at lunch on Friday, Jan 15th in room 202 concerning the 2016
envirothon competition this spring. This is a combined outdoor/indoor two day
competition young people who are interested in the outdoors and protecting the
environment. Any other student, grade 9 - 12, is welcome to attend. (SS Jan. 15)
There is an important and MANDATORY
meeting for all Grade 11 and 12 students who are planning to attend the Ancient History Field Trip to Toronto this Friday, January 15th at lunch in room 304.

Junior Boys Volleyball Tryouts will
be Monday and Wednesday next week at 7:30 am in
the Woodfloor gym. Please sign up outside the gym entrance by Friday after

There will be a ski meeting on Thursday lunch
for all those going on the Mont St Anne Ski Trip in room 103 at 11.30. There are
a couple of spots opened up on the trip if anyone is still interested in coming

Writing
Contest -
Calling all poets and short story writers! Carleton University's English
Department is sponsoring a poetry and short fiction competition. This
year's theme is "Encounters with Technology". First and second
place finishers will have their work published. As well, winners will
receive cash prizes. Register online. Due date: February 19. (JS

Portfolio-Info Night
at University of Ottawa. January 21st,2016 from 7-9pm, Department of Visual
Arts 100 Laurier east (room 114).Applicants are encouraged to bring a selection
of their best work (6-8 works) and their sketchbook for personal feedback and
advice about how to prepare the portfolio. Professors and masters students will
share tips on photographing work and preparing it for digital uploading. They
will also give an introduction to Slideroom, our digital portfolio portal.
