The OCSB Choirs will be presenting
their annual Christmas Concert on Monday, December 14th at 7:30 PM at St. Basil’s Church (Maitland at the
417). The concert, “A Light Has Come” features the OCSB Children’s Choir,
Chamber Choir, Boys Choir and guests. Tickets are $15 at the door or $25,
the Choir’s 25th Anniversary
fundraiser ticket price. Choristers are students from 36 schools across
the Board. Of the 116 students in the choir, 18 attend schools in the Mother
Teresa Family of Schools. (KW

Alpine Ski Team: Please pick up a permission form outside room 201. Our first
practice will be after school in the weight room on Wednesday November 24th
and then December 2nd and December 9th. (AB Dec. 9)
Used Markers- The high needs class is
collecting any and all used and dried out markers. Any kind will do. We
will be sorting them and mailing them off to be recycled for clean energy
instead of making more landfill. If you have any markers please deposit them
into the marker recycle box outside of room 308. This will be on going until
December. Please help us prevent dried out markers from becoming

7/8 Dance Club: If you love to dance and want to part
of this year's 7/8 MT Dance Team, sign up outside of room 337. We will be
performing at various events throughout the school year. Dance style will be
mainly jazz. Practices will be Day 1 at lunchtime in room 230. Practices

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Attention all junior and senior
volleyball players! Please sign up to express your interest on Mrs. Ragaisis' office
door. Tryouts for this year's varsity volleyball team are on Tuesday,
November 24th and Wednesday November 25th. The first team practices will
be on Friday, November 27th and Monday November 30th to prepare for
the first season game on Tuesday, December 1st. (SR Dec.1)
Debate Club: High school students are invited to
attend any or all of the following Debate
Club dates. All meetings are until 4:15 and will take place
in Rm. 138 after school.

for November 30th. Be it resolved that technology has no place in school. New debaters always welcome!

We need a minimum of four debaters to attend each meeting. The
mock debates are a great way to develop thinking and oral skills. Plus,
it's a lot of fun. November 2 resolution: This House would abolish grades

Courses, Careers, Graduation, Scholarships, etc.
MEI International Academy is
having an information meeting at The Westin Ottawa - Alberta Room, 11 Colonel
By Drive, Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 7pm to 9pm.
Students can take summer, semester and full year courses while gaining
REAL-world experiences outside the four walls of a classroom. Scholarships are
available for their 2016-2017 Big Year Program - up to $10,000. (KW Dec. 3)
Any grade 12 student applying for a Prestigious Award (scholarship) at a
university for next year is required to submit their application to Student
Services a minimum of 1 week before the due date. Please do not request letters
of reference from a teacher until you have submitted your application to
Student Services and spoken to your Guidance Counsellor. (JH Dec. 18)

Christmas Party on Saturday, December 5th, 2015. We need students from 1pm to 4:30pm to help with the 10 activity stations
set up in the basement of the Manotick United Church. It's a fun

The Mayor's 15th Annual Christmas
Celebration taking place at Ottawa City
Hall from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 5thth, 2015. Festivities
will include skating on the Sens Rink of Dreams, horse-drawn wagon rides, hot
chocolate and roasting marshmallows. Indoors, children can meet Santa and
Mrs. Claus and make a craft in Santa’s workshop. There will also be live
entertainment in Andrew Haydon Hall.
We are asking volunteers to arrive no than 12:30 p.m. at the
Festival Control Boardroom (located on the 1st floor of City Hall, 110 Laurier
Avenue West) to sign-in, get a briefing on how the event will unfold, have
a bite to eat and get into position. A light lunch will be provided to
volunteers before the event – a vegetarian option will be available. Please be prepared to work until
approximately 7:30 p.m. given that we will need help after the event
to assist with clean up. If students are interested in volunteering for this
