Do you want to see amazing MT talent in a unique coffee house atmosphere???  Get your tickets at lunch Nov 4th or Nov 5th in the Atrium. The Coffee House is Wed Nov 12 from 7 to 9 pm. Tickets are $3 for students and $5 for parents. Don't miss out! (SM Nov. 5)

MT students have a long tradition of  participating in our local Legion's Poster and Writing Contest for Remembrance Day. It is a great way for some students to really shine and show their talent!    This year we are looking for art, writing or even a video. 

Posters can be in black and white or colour, with the theme- Remembrance.    We are also looking for essays or poems. Students in the past have written stories, journals, recollections from family members, etc.   Maximum words for the literary contest is 500, maximum lines for poetry is 32 lines.    Posters and writing can be in French or English.   (no larger than 56 X 71 cm - no bristol boards, canvas please....) If you have any questions, or would like a registration form,   please see Mrs. Birmingham in room 327.   Deadline is November 11th!   Good luck!  (JB Nov. 11)

2014/2015 Boys Varsity Hockey Tryouts:

Monday November 17, Walter Baker A 3:30-5

Wednesday November 19, Walter Baker A 3:30-4:30

Thursday November 20, Walter Baker B 3:30-4:30 (First Team Practice) This is FULL CONTACT hockey, full equipment is required.  All players welcome.  See Mr. Gervasi in 309 for more details. (MG Nov. 20)

Senior Boys Soccer Fan Bus happening for Monday afternoon. You can print permission forms and get details from the Mother Teresa High website. Please bring forms and money to Mr. Rowley in rm. 136 by 10:00 am on Monday morning. (MR Nov. 3)

Interested in joining a band? Grade 11 and 12 students who want to perform or take take part in a band as a musician, vocalist, technician, videographer, etc. may be eligible to do a coop placement with Hummingbird Music next semester (February 2015). Curling Team Tryouts:  All students who signed up to try out for the curling team must confirm they will attend the on-ice tryout on Tuesday, November 4th.  Please see one of the coaches (Mr. Baldin - room 216, Mrs. Donaghy - dance studio, Mrs. Robinson - room 301) to confirm your presence and to be advised of proper attire and equipment.  Confirmed students will be signed out at 2:35pm and cabs will depart the side of the school at 2:40pm. BOSTON TRIP:  For any students taking business courses this year or next year, there is a FANTASTIC Boston trip planned.  There are only 18 spots available.  Pick up an information letter and an itinerary to share with your parents from a business ed. teacher.  There will be a meeting on Wednesday, Nov 5 in room 216 for those interested in more information Tour Fenway Park, Ben and Jerry's Ice cream, Harvard University, New England Aquarium and more!!!  Come and find out about it. Attention all History on Film Club members.  This month's meeting has been postponed to Wednesday November 5 and Thursday November 6.  The movie will be Schindler's List.  Could all Grade 9 and 10 students in the Film Club please pick up a special permission form on Thursday at lunch in room 304. Wednesday November 5th is Take Our Kid To Work Day. All grade 9 students spend the day in the workplace of a parent, relative, friend or volunteer experiencing and learning about the world of work as

they begin to explore possible career paths. (KN Nov. 4)

Any Grade 11 or 12 student interested in learning more about opportunities in the Canadian Military are to sign up in Student Services. The presentation will take place November 24, 2014 @ 10:10 in the Multi Purpose room. (JR Nov. 24)

ATTENTION ALL 7-8 Students… Halloween Dance is Friday, October 31st    from 1:20 to 2:50 in the Cafeteria Gym.  Cost is $2 per student. Is the Halloween Dance not your thing? Fret not!   The library will be available for alternative activities (e.g., computer time, study hall - maybe you want to get a head start on your homework for the weekend?, watch a movie, etc.) No charge for entry to the library.  Please see homeroom representative for more information. Attention all Grade 12 Students.  It's graduation portrait time from Monday, November 17th to Thursday, November 20th. Friday, November 21st is a PD day so no school/appointments.

Evening Author Event

MTHS students are invited to attend a special evening event to meet all seven authors of a Canadian teen series called SEVEN @ www.seventheseries.com.  The event takes place at St.Paul High School Thursday Oct. 23rd from  7:00-8:30pm as a launch event for their sequel series!

Red Maple (7/8 Book Club) and White Pine (HS Book Club) Books have been ordered and will be arriving in the coming weeks. We will start meeting with the Red Maple and White Pine clubs once the books are in.
