HIGH SCHOOL
ANNOUNCEMENTS
CROSS COUNTRY: There will be a meeting foe all
high school students interested in joining the
x-country
ski team in room 103 Friday at 11:45 am. This year we will have two meets and
practice in Gatineau Park. We are able to provide equipment for most students. (MF – Oct. 19)
DEBATE CLUB: High
school students interested in joining the Debate Club are asked to come to a
brief meeting after school on Monday, October 22 in Rm 138. Members can train
for competition or just for fun! Please see Mrs. Simpson if you cannot make the
meeting but would like to join. We will determine our regular meeting time on
Monday.

MONTREAL TRIP: Make
sure all forms for the trip to the Holocaust Museum are handed in to Ms. Coyle
or Martha before the trip on October 23rd. (MD – Oct. 23)
SOCIAL SKILLS TUTOR WANTED: Looking for a male grade
11 or grade 12 student to dialogue with a younger student at lunch 2-3 times
per week here at MT. Earn community service hours or $10 per hour. Please see
Ms. Pierce in Student Services for more information. (MP –Oct 19)
SPA DAY: Get your nail on!!! The MT nail
salons " Glitz and Glamour" and "Viva La Diva" will be open
next Thursday, October 25 P3 and P4. Price
list is as follows: Basic Manicure: $3, French Manicure/various nail art
techniques (cheetah print, etc...): $5, Shellac Nails: $10 (lasts up to three
weeks). If you would like to book an
appointment, please have your teacher RSVP with Mrs. Champigny. Bring exact
change. Spaces for Shellac are very limited. Feel free to bring in your own
colours (however, shellac we will provide the options). Thanks for your support! (MC – Oct. 25)
WRITING CLUB: Meets every Tuesday at lunch in Rm 138. New members always welcome. (JS –Oct 30)

female tutor to help out a Grade 6 student from Msgr. Paul Baxter, once a week

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE BYWARD MARKET’S BIA
UPCOMING EVENTS: Oktoberfest, October 20th,
2012 and Christmas Choirs.
· Volunteers for Oktoberfest are asked to help with set-up and decorating,
monitoring children and family activities and with the tear down. Volunteers
are needed between 8:30 am until 4:00 pm. Half day and full day opportunities
are available. See poster in Student Services.

The Byward
Market is lookng for school choirs to perform in the market during the
Christmas season. Interested groups can send their information and availability

opportunity - We are looking for 5 or 6 student volunteers to help out at St.
Luke School Movie Night on Friday October 26th. It will be from 5-9 with

McCrae school (200 boxes) and they need help unloading, sorting and
bagging. We would be needed for 2 hours after school Wednesday November
7. We need at least 10 people to help.
