The Business Dept. has a NEW bulletin board outside room 216 to communicate with students who are interested in Business but aren't enrolled in a “Business” class during the semester. We will announce contests, guest speakers, field trips, showcases, and any other business opportunities for students. Help us name the board. 7/8 SWIM TEAM: Interested in joining the Grade 7/8 Swim Team? Come to an information meeting on FRIDAY, March 23 at the beginning of 7/8 lunch, in Room 235. Please bring your lunch to Room 235 on Friday! (TC –Mar 23)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND TEACHERS: OSSLT Preparation Sessions will take place on Wednesday and Thursday this week during period 3. Those grade 11 & 12 students writing the test, as well as students receiving accommodations will be reminded of where they are to report during period 3 on both days via a reminder slip in their homeroom teacher's mailbox. High school students will not be able to access the Resource Room during period 3 on Wed and Thurs as students receiving accommodations on the OSSLT will be preparing with their resource teachers during that time. HIGH SCHOOL FIELD LACROSSE: Practices will begin on Wednesday, March 21st, after school on the back field. All interested players must attend. Please have full equipment and cleats. (JL –Mar 21)

REMINDER TO CO-OP STUDENTS: Friday March 23 is a Co-op Integration Day. Co-op students need to come to school for their regular co-op class with Mrs. O’Sullivan or Mr. Nearing on that day. Students are asked to meet at the computer lab and to bring their co-op journals with them. (MO –Mar 23)

BADMINTON TRY OUTS: High School Badminton tryouts will begin the week after the March Break.

Attention students who have passed the tests for Royal Canadian Music levels 6 or 7: Granata Music is looking for students to work as teachers' assistants. The hours would be after school potentially between the hours of 4 and 8. A student could earn a coop credit or Granata Music may be willing to pay more than minimum wage. Due to the high demand of students, Granata Music is looking to hire a new piano & vocal instructor. Requirements:
1. Minimum RCM Grade 7 – 8
2. Positive attitude & punctual
3. Able to create and follow a lesson plan
4. Theory Background

OTTAWA POLICE LOOKING FOR YOUTH TO JOIN YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE: Ottawa Police Service is launching a Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) and is now accepting applications. Until March 23, 2012, young people under 24 can apply online at ottawapolice.ca/yac. YAC will bring a youth voice to policing and give youth a chance to share ideas and work with police on decisions and projects that matter to Ottawa youth. YAC members will also meet new friends, build skills and resumes, and be provided with food, bus tickets and other perks. (JH –Mar 23)

GET YOUR COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS: The National Capital Baseball League is looking for scorekeepers during the 2012 NCBL season (May 10 – September 1). PARENTING YOUR TEEN THROUGH TURBULENT TIMES - A SPECIAL DRUG AND ALCOHOL AWARENESS PANEL: The School Council of St. Francis Xavier High School in pleased to offer this important information evening
for parents, to be held at St. Francis Xavier High School (St. F. X.) on Tuesday, March 27th, 7pm-9pm in the gymnasium. The school is located at 3740 Spratt Road, Gloucester in Riverside South. OSTA CONSULTATION MEETINGS: The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority will be conducting public consultation on a number of proposed changes to transportation policies for the Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) and the Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) in an effort to harmonize policies between the two school boards. There will be five sessions in total, occurring on the following dates:
