WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

SKI/SNOWBOARD CLUB: The season has been delayed a week and will now start on Wed. Jan 25th. The remaining dates will be Feb. 8, 15, 22, 29 and March 7. The bus list will be posted this week. Ski/snowboard equipment should be placed in the wood shed in the compound on the west side of the school. (KN –Jan 18)

REMEMBRANCE DAY WINNERS! Congratulations again to the incredible artists and writers who won this year’s Legion Remembrance Day Literary and Poster Contest. Could the following students please see Mrs. Birmingham today in room 306 to confirm your attendance at the awards ceremony on Sunday: Kevin Bui, Luke Briglio, Sean Seeley, Dovile Miliauskaite, Kyle Sauve, Sarah Mecksavanh, Jessica Mendoza, Kiara St. Crois-Kiska, Edward Chan, Madelaine Migrino, Gabrielle Adams, Michelle Ramonet, and Nadia Dirienzo. PIZZA FOR SALE: Pizza will be sold Tuesday and Thursday after school, for the month of January, for $2 a slice. Please come out and support our Costa Rica trip. (SR –Jan 31)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

CHESS CLUB: There will be a meeting for anyone interested in joining the chess club on Thursday January 12 at lunch in room 234. Please see Mr. Sweeney if you cannot attend. (SS –Jan 12)

REACH FOR THE TOP: Reach for the Top on Thursday, January 12. New members are always welcome! Bring your lunch to Room 235 at the beginning of 7/8 lunch. (TC –Jan 12)

GIRLS FLOORBALL: Any Grade 7/8 Girls wishing to try out for the Girls Floorball Team must sign up outside room 332 by Friday, January 13th. Try outs take place Monday, January 16 and Wednesday, January 18 at 3 - 4 PM. (AJ –Jan 13)

7/8 STUDENT COUNCIL: There will be a Grade 7/8 Student Council meeting on Monday, January 16 at the beginning of 7/8 lunch. Come to Room 235!!! (TC –Jan 16)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

I MATTER, U MATTER: Could all IMUMs please drop by Ms. Stuart's classroom, 102, at some point today to receive their new schedule. If you responded to the email, then you do not need to come by. (CS –Jan 12)

VARSITY GIRLS RUGBY: There will be an important meeting on Friday, Jan 13th at 8:00 am in the Dance Studio for any girls interested in playing Rugby this spring. All interested girls must attend. (JL –Jan 12)

MANGA CLUB: Meeting this Friday at lunch in Rm 138. (JS –Jan 13)

MT. ST.ANNE SKI TRIP: There is one spot available for the trip on Feb.3-5. If you are interested please see Mr. Nearing in rm. 320. (KN –Jan 13)

HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC COUNCIL: Any grade 9-12 student interested in being part of a High School Athletic Council for second semester please meet Ms. Agnel on Friday at 12:00pm in the wood floor gym. (MEA –Jan 13)

REACH FOR THE TOP: There will be a meeting for all Reach For The Top team captains Friday, January 13th at lunch in room 307. Attendance is mandatory. The Game schedule will be handed out for the upcoming tournament. The meeting will start at 11:45. (JS –Jan 13)

STUDENT SERVICES

NIGHT SCHOOL - WINTER 2012 (FEBRUARY 21ST TO MAY 30TH) from the Ottawa-Carleton Public School Board. Registration during the day is from Monday, January 23rd to Tuesday, February 14th at 440 Albert Street from 9:00 am to 3:30pm. Evening registration is at the high school of your course’s choice (Adult High School or Merivale HS) on Monday, February 13th (6pm-7:30pm) and Tuesday, February 14th (6pm-7:30pm). Early registration is recommended as space is limited. Registration forms are available in Student Services. These forms require a signature from a parent/guardian, the student and a counsellor from our school. Once the form is completed, the original is returned to the student to take to the registration site of his/her choice for processing. (KW –Jan 22)

THE VICTORIA QUILTS CLUB WILL NOW BE MEETING on Thursdays in the library from 3:00 pm to 4:30pm. Come and have fun with a needle and thread and tie knots. It's that simple! No experience necessary.Earn community service hours at the same time. New members (guys or gals) are invited to join. The more the merrier and the more quilts we can complete and help out a great cause. See Mrs. Watkinson in Student Services for more information. (KW –Jan 26)

GRADE 12’s / GRADS

GRADUATION INFO: The MT Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2012 will be held at Mother Teresa on Thursday June 28 at 1:00 pm. Each student will be given 2 tickets for guests. Students will be able to request extra tickets starting in May and will be informed whether they will get extra tickets, in early June. (JH –Jan 20)
