WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
BASIC POWER YOGA: One Month Yoga session Nov 8th to Nov 29th. Every Tuesday 3:00-4:00 PM, in the Dance Studio. Have fun playing around with over 600 poses as you build strength, tone your muscles, decrease stress, increase flexibility, and work on your balance. Email: julierollwagen@rogers.com to register before Nov 6th. Leave your name, email and phone number. Minimum of 10 students required for session to run. Cost is $25.00 for 4 classes. 7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS 
REACH FOR THE TOP CANCELLED: Due to parent teacher interviews, there will be NO Reach for the Top this Thursday, November 3. (TC –Nov 3)
+ 7/8 GIRLS VOLLEYBALL PRACTICES: There will a practice on Wednesday November 2nd, 2011 after school in the Caf Gym, for the 7-8 Girls Volleyball team. Practice on Nov 3 has been CANCELLED due to Parent Teacher Interviews. (JB –Nov 3)
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
CURLING TEAM: The final tryout/practice will take place on Wednesday Nov 2 at the Nepean Sportsplex. We will be leaving MT at 2:30pm. All those attending must confirm with Miss K by Wednesday morning! The season starts the following week! (CK –Nov 2)
RETURN TO VIMY 2012: There is an important meeting Wednesday, November 2nd at 11:30 in Student Services for those students participating in the Return to Vimy 2012 trip. (MP –Nov 2)
SCHOOL CHOIR: There will be a meeting for all students interested in joining the school choir on Friday, November 4 at 11:30 in room 119. (AC –Nov 4)
SAY IT OUT LOUD: Essays for the October writing contest are due by the end of the week. If you have a short opinion essay to enter, drop it off to Rm 138 or see Mrs. Simpson. (JS –Nov 4)
S.A.A.E. MEETING: S.A.A.E. (Students against the Axis of Evil) are meeting on Friday Nov. 4 at lunch time. Please be on time and bring your lunch with you. (MD –Nov 4)

ALGONQUIN COLLEGE OPEN HOUSE: Students that signed up for the open house on Thursday, Nov. 3rd are reminded that forms are due asap. Don't miss this opportunity to take a look at the vast array of programs and chat with the professors. The bus leaves at 8:40 am sharp. (KN –Nov 2)

GRADE 12’s / GRADS 
GRADUATING STUDENTS – POLICIES AND DEADLINES: In the past, it has been the practice of some graduating students to leave their Community Service Hours to the last month of school, thereby jeopardizing their graduation in June. As a result, the following policies are now in place at Mother Teresa:
· PROM: All graduating students must have completed their 40 hours of community service if they intend to attend their graduation dance. The earlier the better! Hours must be submitted to Student Services by Friday May 11th, 2012.
- GRADUATION: In order to attend the Graduation Ceremony, students must have the 40 hours of community service completed by Friday June 11, 2012.
Forms are available in Student Services, the main office, or on the Mother Teresa website. (SD –Nov 11)

MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCE NIGHT: On November 3rd, between 2:30 - 7:00, we are hosting our Mental Health Resource Night. Please stop by to check out the available community resources on your way home from work, or while waiting for your interview times with your child's grade 7/8 teachers. (MP –Nov 3)
PARENTING NOW SEMINAR: The Catholic School Parents Association (CSPA) is proud to offer Parenting Now - Supporting Healthy Minds on the morning of Saturday, November 12, 2011, at St. Patrick's High School (2525 Alta Vista Drive). THE MOTHER TERESA SCHOOL COMMUNITY INVITES YOU AND YOUR FAMILY to an evening with Dr. Suzanne Simond, Psychologist with the Ottawa Anxiety and Trauma Clinic, for a presentation on Healing After a Trauma. Topics to be covered: What is the normal coping process after a trauma? What is the process of healing over time? What are effective coping strategies? What are warning signs and symptoms of difficulty coping? What does Post Traumatic Stress Disorder look like? When is it time to seek help?
