POPCORN: White Pine Club will be selling popcorn on Thursday, November 17th during both lunches. $1.00/bag. (CHV – Nov 17)
BASIC POWER YOGA: For those wishing to try out a Yoga class, the Thursday Yoga session is now open for drop in classes for a fee of $ 8.00. Meet us in the dance studio ready to start for 3:00 PM. Comfortable clothing and a water bottle are recommended. Beginners welcome. (JR –Nov 17)
THE TITAN TALENT LOUNGE! Auditions are taking place Monday through Thursday after school in the multipurpose room. Audition sign-up sheets are on the wall outside of room 301. The show will take place on Thursday November 24th at 7:00pm. Cost is $3 at the door. Come out and be part of huge Titan talent on a small stage!! (NR –Nov 24)
SKI/SNOWBOARD CLUB: The club is open to all students and is an inexpensive way for beginning skiers/snowboarders to learn the sport. Forms are available online on the Mother Teresa Website, in the office, or in rm. 320. Please return the forms to the office in the plastic bin on the wall marked SKI/SNOWBOARD CLUB. Forms are due back by Friday, Dec. 2nd. Return forms asap to guarantee a spot as last year we had a waiting list. (KN –Dec 2)
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS 
7/8 STUDENT COUNCIL MEETING: All Grade 7/8 Student Council members are asked to bring their lunch to Rm. 235 at the beginning of lunch on Wednesday, Nov. 16th. (TC –Nov 16)
REACH FOR THE TOP: Reach for the Top will be held in Room 235 at the beginning of 7/8 lunch on Thursday, Nov. 17. (TC –Nov 17)

PEER HELPERS: Reminder of our meeting Wednesday at lunch in room 302. Please bring the $18 so that you may collect your shirt. We will be taking a group photo for the yearbook, so everyone is asked to be wearing their new bright red shirt! (CS –Nov 16)
MATH ENRICHMENT GROUP: Wednesday Nov 16th at lunch (note date change!) We will start our meetings on Wednesday this week. Bring your lunch. Grade 9 - Room 301, Mrs. Robinson. Grade 10 - Room 303, Mr. Steinke. Grade 11 & 12 - Room 317, Mrs. McNeil and Mrs. Graidia. (MM –Nov 16)
CO-OP INTEGRATION DAY: Reminder to co-op students: Wednesday November 16 is a Co-op Integration Day. Co-op students come to school for their regular co-op class with Mrs. O’Sullivan or Mr. Nearing on that day. Students are asked to meet at the computer lab. Please note that November 16 is a shortened day due to Parent-Teacher Interviews starting at 2:30. (MO –Nov 16)
M.T.S.A.I.D: There will be an MTSAID meeting on Thursday at the beginning of lunch in room 209. (MK –Nov 17)
MANGA CLUB: For all the members participating in this weekend's convention, you must attend Thursday's Manga meeting in Rm 138. If you would like to go to the convention but haven't paid yet, that is the last day to do so.... (JS –Nov 17)
SANTA CLAUS PARADE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: Volunteers required during the Santa Claus Parade, weekend of November 19th –November 20th. Pierre Poilievre, MP is looking for volunteers to help decorate the float and participate in the parade. Please contact events@nepeancarleton.ca (KW – Nov 20)
HIGH SCHOOL REACH IS BACK! The Mother Teresa Reach For the Top trivia competition is on. If you are interested in fielding a team see Mr. Specht (room 307) for a sign up sheet before the end of the day Monday, November 21st. All grades are welcome. Teams are a minimum of four people and all games will take place at lunch. (JS –Nov 21)
INTERESTED IN TUTORING? We are looking for tutors in all subject areas in all grades. Please stop by Student Services to pick up at tutoring application. You can earn community service hours or $10 per hour. (MP –Nov 25)
SAY IT OUT LOUD: November is sonnet month. Write a sonnet and drop it off to Mrs. Simpson in Rm 138 by the end of the month. You might win a Chapters' gift certificate. (JS –Nov 30)
STUDENT SERVICES 
Y VOLUNTEER OTTAWA CONTEST: Take a picture, create a video, write a poem, paint, sing, dance...anything that answers the question "Why Volunteer?" Enter the contest to win great prizes. Entrants must be between 16 and 24 years of age. Entrants should live in or be from the Ottawa area. Entries must be in either French or English. Entries are being accepted from October 21st until midnight November 27th, 2011. For more information including contest rules and dates visit: volunteerottawa.ca/youth/contest. INTERNATIONAL STUDENT EXCHANGE: Ontario is holding an information meeting for interested students and parents on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at 7:30pm at the Ottawa Carleton District School Board Lecture Hall at 440 Albert Street. (parking is available with access from Laurier or Slater) A representative will be present to provide information and answer questions. Please visit www.iseontario.on.ca for details about programs. GRADE 12’s / GRADS 
GRADUATION PORTRAITS: Graduation Portrait Sessions are right around the corner. Photos will be taken during the week of November 21st - November 25th, in room 131. All students must have their picture taken.
For students who do not wish to buy a package: You are still required to have your photo taken in order to part of the grad composite and be in the yearbook. There is no cost for this. You simply make your way to Room 131 during the week of November 21st. You do not need to make an appointment!
For students wishing to purchase a package: You must book an appointment online. Please follow these instructions:
1. Type in the three-letter code at www.bookmygrad.ca. Our school code is MTH
2. Select sitting type, date and time
3. Confirm appointment via e-mail
All Grade 12 students are to pick up information pamphlets in Student Services ASAP. (KW –Nov 17)
GRADUATION INFO: The MT Graduation Ceremony for the class of 2012 will be held at Mother Teresa on Thursday June 28 at 1:00 pm. Each student will be given 2 tickets for guests. Students will be able to request extra tickets starting in May and will be informed whether they will get extra tickets, in early June. (JH –Nov 21)

FUNDSCRIP FUNDRAISER NOW ON! Information has been sent home regarding Fundscrip, the main fundraiser of the school year for our Catholic School Council. Fundscrip is an innovative program that lets you earn cash rebates for Mother Teresa High School based on purchasing gift cards at face value for everyday items like groceries and gasoline. We hope that you will read through the Fundscrip material and consider placing an order on the reverse side of the form. All orders must be in the school by November 18th.
