GRADE 8 LEADERSHIP CAMP: Attention all grade 8 students who signed up in June for leadership camp.  There will be a quick meeting Wednesday September 14 in Room 231 (Mr Lussier's class) at lunch to finalize everything before next week’s trip.  Bring your lunch. (BL –Sep 14)

DODGEBALL INTRAMURALS: Dodgeball intramural sign-ups will be Wednesday and Thursday during the 7/8 lunch. There will be a table set up in the cafeteria for sign ups. Students need to make a team of seven players. There is a cost to each team of $1. Anyone that wants to play but that does not have a team, please sign up and we will find one for you. (CN –Sep 15)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

LEADERSHIP CAMP: All high school students who are registered to participate in leadership camp, please attend a meeting in the chapel at the beginning of lunch on Wed. Sept. 14th. (TC –Sep 14)

indicating their interest to play on the school tennis team by Thursday morning.  Practices will begin next week. (RM –Sep 15)

GIRLS BASKETBALL PLAYERS: There is a try-out for any grade 9 or 10 girl interested in playing basketball today after school (Tuesday) and on Thursday after school in the wood floor gym.  Please see Mrs. Ragaisis or Mrs. Berthalot if you have any questions. clip_image015GIRLS HOCKEY – PRACTICE AND TRYOUT SCHEDULE: Please be ready to go once the Zamboni is off the ice.  Full equipment is mandatory (including mouth guards) and water bottles are your own responsibility.  Anyone who needs to leave early must let the coaches know ahead of time.  Transportation (practice/try-outs) to and from the arena is your responsibility. clip_image021LOOKING FOR: Before school supervision for two children, aged 8 and 10.  Responsibility includes staying in the house with the children and ensuring they board the school bus from Monday to Friday from 8:00 am - 8:50 am. Location:  Woodpark Way (near St. Luke elementary school).  Suitable for a responsible teenager with a spare first, or an adult.  Please contact Blair at 613 878-1569. (KW –Sep 14)

clip_image023VOLUNTEER AT THE RICHMOND FAIR:  The Richmond Fair needs volunteers this weekend. Activities included directing people at the gates, working the parking lots and general help in the buildings. It a great way to see the fair and appreciate all the work that goes into it. Hours are flexible and each student could work up to 20 hours in two days. A great opportunity to accumulate hours! If interested please contact Mark: 613-863-6949.  (JH –Sep 16)

clip_image025TUTORS NEEDED:  We are looking for student tutors. Earn community service hours or get paid $10/per hour. Tutors are required primarily in the math, science and English areas. Stop by Student Services to pick up an application form. (MP –Sep 16)

clip_image027SCHOOL RINGS: A representative from Jostens Rings will be here on Monday, September 19th and Tuesday, September 20th during senior lunch time.  Come and see the beautiful collection of rings.  Booklets will be available in Student Services for pick up.  Now is the time to start thinking about school rings, not just grad rings. clip_image029 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR HARVEST DINNER: Volunteers are needed for Harvest Dinner at St. Patrick’s Parish, on Sunday, September 25th from 3pm to 8pm.  Choose a shift of at least 2 1/2 hours.  You will help with serving pie, resetting tables for the 2nd sitting just to list a few tasks.  You will not be alone; you will be placed with an adult.  Bring your community service hour form to get signed there.  Please contact Nora Burnett (St. Patrick's Parish, Fallowfield) at 613 825-2049. clip_image031QUILTS! We have a unique opportunity for students to earn their volunteer hours right here at our school!

Victoria’s Quilts Canada is a non-profit organization making quilts for people with Cancer living anywhere in Canada. Demand for these quilts has increased dramatically in the past few years. Victoria’s Quilts is looking for students.  Both boys and girls can help to tie and finish the quilts.  Sewing skills are not required. Please sign up in Student Services. (KW –Sep 30)

clip_image033VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

  • Saturday September 17, Richmond Parade, starts at South Carleton High School in Richmond.  We need volunteers to arrive before 10:30 at the front of the school where Pierre Poilievre and his volunteers will be lined up for the parade that leaves at 11:00 am.  We need students to help hand out candy while in the parade with Pierre, who will be in a black Camero Convertible.
  • The next event is to help hand out balloons at the Metcalfe Fair on Saturday October 1 and Sunday October 2.
