WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GIVING OUT YEARBOOKS:

Every home room teacher should come and collect the yearbooks for their class from room 103 at 8.30 this morning to give out during homeroom. A few teachers have a big pile so be prepared.
Each pile has a list of students with check marks if they have a yearbook. If they have a 'P' next to their name it is because they have a personalized yearbook.
Some yearbooks have been pulled because of non payment of fees (this is noted on your form). Students need to go to the office and pay their fee before they can come and collect their yearbook from Mr. Pentlow on Friday at lunchtime.
If a student isn't on the list, they didn't order a yearbook. Please send any students with questions to see Mr. Pentlow at lunchtime today.
If students haven't ordered a book, we are ordering an extra 35 for delivery next Thursday. Students can see Mr. Pentlow at lunchtime on Thursday only with $40 cash. The first 30 with cash get a yearbook. (AP – Jun 15)

LIBRARY: All library books and magazines are DUE Wednesday, June 15th. (CHV –Jun 15)

HS FOOTBALL MEETING (GRADES 8 TO 11): There will be a mandatory meeting in room 119 at 3:00 p.m on Friday, June 17 for all students interested in playing football for the upcoming season. (AC –Jun 17)

LAST DAY FOR CAFETERIA SERVICE: The last day for cafeteria service is Friday June 24. There will be no caf service for June 27 - 28, so all staff and students are reminded to bring a lunch on those days. (CB –Jun 24)

7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS

ATTENTION GRADE 8 STUDENTS: Last call for photos! We are putting together a special slideshow for the Grade 8 Semi Formal and we'd love to include pictures of everyone. VIMY 2012: There will be a meeting this Friday in Student Services at 2:30 for all students participating in the Vimy 2012 trip next March. Appointment slips will be given out Friday morning. (MP –Jun 17)

ATTENTION GRADE 7 & 8 GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM: There will be a practice Wednesday, June 15th 3 - 5 PM and our final practice will be Friday, June 17th at 7:30 AM. The tournament will be Monday, June 20th. See you there! (AJ – Jun 17)

HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS

ATTENTION HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: We are looking for some students to assist with an event taking place at Mother Teresa on Friday, June 17th. You must be available 3 - 4:30PM and then again 5:30 - 7:30 PM. Community Service Hours available. Speak to Mrs. Jewitt in room 332 by Wednesday, June 15th if you are interested. (AJ –Jun 15)

MTSAID – LAST MEETING OF THE YEAR: MTSAID's last meeting will take place on Wednesday June 15th at the beginning of high school lunch in room 205. Please attend as we bid farewell to our dedicated grade 12 members. A reminder to those MTSAID members who ordered t-shirts to submit their $20 to Mrs. Kowal ASAP! (MK –Jun 15)

BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB: Any grade 11 student interested in working as Junior Youth Worker at the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa at Britannia, please check out the available information in Student Services. Applications are being accepted until Friday, June 17^th. (MP –Jun 15)

LONDON, ENGLAND TRIP – IT’S NOT TOO LATE! (*updated) See Mrs. Simpson in Rm 138 for information regarding next March Break's trip to the incredible city of London, England. Come see the birthplace of such greats as William Shakespeare, Prince William and Mr. Pentlow! This trip is being organized for senior students. Reserve your spot by June 20 for as little as $195.00. ADOBE YOUTH VOICES: Adobe Youth Voices is a new and exciting project brought to you by YOUCAN and TakingITGlobal to teach youth aged 13-18 video and photo editing skills and to encourage Youth to create multimedia projects about issues that are relevant to them. Youth are given 12-15 hours of editing training and given access to cameras and the lab at other times to finalize there creations and have the whole world hear what you(th) have to say. DRIVER’S EDUCATION: It's here! Driver’s Education for the summer. Locations for in class sessions are at All Saints HS, Sacred Heart HS, St. Joseph HS, St. Paul HS and St. Peter HS. Open to all students attending Ottawa region secondary schools. Must be at least 16 years of age and have a G1 license prior to July 4th, 2011. Registration runs from May 2^nd - June 17^th, 2011. Childcare needed: Mother seeking before and after school childcare for 2 children attending St. Luke's Elementary School. Hours of care: approximately, 7:30 am - 9:00 am and 3:40pm - 6:00 pm. City of Ottawa: The City of Ottawa is offering an Advanced Leadership Program for youth 15 and up. The youth will acquire pre-employment skills, experience and certificates including: High Five: Principles of Healthy Child Development Certificate, Standard First Aid, CPR-C and Defibrillator Training Certificate; Hands on work experience, Workplace communication, Programming experience and Leadership skills. GRADUATION CEREMONY 2011: This year’s graduation ceremony takes place on Wednesday June 29^th, at 1:00 pm, at Mother Teresa High School. Please make sure you have picked up your tickets in Student Services. (SD –Jun 20)
