WHOLE SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: There will be a meeting on Friday, May 20th after school in room 119 for any students from grades 8 to 11 interested in trying out for next year's high school football team. (AC-May 19)
7/8 ANNOUNCEMENTS
HUNGER GAMES EVENT: Are you ready for THE EVENT? Have you read The Hunger Games? Drop by the library to sign up for The Hunger Games Event before Thursday May 19, 2011. What? The event will include a cornucopia challenge, jeopardy trivia and a physical challenge. When? 7/8 lunch on Friday, May 20th. Prizes! (CHV-May 19)
- Girls Softball: Interested in trying out for this year's Girls' Softball Team? Sign your name to the list posted outside room 332. The try out schedule is posted above the sign up sheets. Speak with Mrs. Jewitt if unable to attend any of the tryouts. See you on the diamond! (AJ-May 20)
- Boys Softball: Any boys interested in trying out for the 7/8 boys softball team, are asked to sign up this week outside room 333. Try-outs begin next week. Please see Mr. Shannon with any questions. (KS –May 20)
HIGH SCHOOL ANNOUNCEMENTS
HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: This is a reminder to high school baseball players, of our game today at Faulkner Field. Please meet promptly at 2:30 to board the taxis. If by chance the game is cancelled due to weather, there will be a brief meeting after school in room 110 today. Be there and be positive. (RB –May 19)
D.I.F.D. CLOTHING ORDERS ARE IN! You may pick up this week (to May 20) at lunch in the Tuck Shop or next week (to May 27) at lunch in room 216. (SM –May 27)
IMPROV CLUB: The Improv Club will meet every Monday at lunch until the end of May in Rm 138. (JS –May 30)
STUDENT SERVICES
ANOTHER CHANCE FOR SCHOOL RINGS! Jostens Rings will be back for Grade 11 and Grade 12 students during senior lunch on Wednesday, May 18th and Thursday, May 19th. It is the perfect opportunity for all grade 11 students to purchase their class rings in May and receive them in September and for the Grade 12 students who haven't had a chance to order one yet. By ordering in May, you will get your ring early and save money as well. (KW –May 19)
URGENT – VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY: A Senior citizen in Barrhaven is looking for someone to help out with light landscaping, raking, removing broken tree branches from a lot. Please call Linda at 613-692-9237. (KW –May 24)
UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA 2011-2012 TRANSITION PROGRAM for students with a learning disability or other functional limitation (cognitive, psychological, psychiatric, medical, physical or sensory). VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! The Bright Math Camp 2011 is a not-for-profit camp for the promotion of mathematics taking place at Carleton University, UC 282 (Unicenter) from July 18-22, 2011. The camps are organized for motivated bright and gifted students entering in the fall 2011 into grades 7-8-9. The camp covers recreational math, study skills strategies. There is 1 hr free swimming on one day and introduction to Tai Chi. Information sheets are available in Student Services. Check their website: http://www.ncf.ca/~au680/index.htm for further details. DRIVER’S EDUCATION: It's here! Driver’s Education for the summer. Locations for in class sessions are at All Saints HS, Sacred Heart HS, St. Joseph HS, St. Paul HS and St. Peter HS. Open to all students attending Ottawa region secondary schools. Must be at least 16 years of age and have a G1 license prior to July 4th, 2011. Registration runs from May 2 - June 17, 2011. Forms can be found in Student Services. (KW –May 31)
SUMMER SCHOOL: Both Catholic and Public School Board Summer School information and registration packages are available in Student Services. Pre-registration is from May 2nd to June 17th. (KW –Jun 2)
GRADS
GRADE 12: GRADUATION CEREMONY TICKETS: Grad tickets will be distributed in early June. For students that requested extra tickets, they have been granted up to 4 extra tickets. More tickets may become available closer to the graduation date. (JH-May 20)
