YOGA: The spring schedule for Yoga will run for 8 weeks from Monday, March 28th, 2011 until Monday, June 6th, 2011, from 3:05 – 4:05 pm. (There are no classes April 25th, May 2nd and May 23rd.) RIHANNA, RIHANNA. KISS FM will be here on Wednesday at lunch, LIVE, to give away a pair of Rihanna tickets (sold out concert). You have to enter the speed texting competition however. The fastest texter gets the tickets. Simple as that!! Find us in the atrium to test your speed for $1. All proceeds go to the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund. (LB –Apr 19)

STUDENT COUNCIL ELECTIONS: Are you a great leader? Do you have new and creative ideas? Do you want to help make Mother Teresa the best school in Ottawa? Then you should become a member of MT Student Council!! Information sessions for all grade 8 to 11 students will take place on Tuesday April 26th in Room 301 at the beginning of both lunches. Also, a second session for high school students ONLY will take place on Wednesday April 27 in Room 301 at the beginning of senior lunch. URGENT! YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP CONFERENCE: Attention all students who applied for the Youth Entrepreneurship Conference April 19th. VERY IMPORTANT! Please check the list in room 216 this morning to ensure that you have a confirmed spot. Anyone signed up but unable to attend must notify Mr. Baldin or Mrs. Morency immediately. VARSITY GIRLS SOCCER: Any high school girl interested in playing for the Varsity Girls Soccer Team is asked to try-out on Monday, April 18th. Please be prepared for BOTH an indoor & an outdoor practice depending on the weather. Try-outs begin promptly @ 3pm and go until 4:30pm. (SM –Apr 18)

OVERSEAS ENRICHMENT TRIP 2012 – RETURN TO VIMY RIDGE: Next year we are planning a trip, in conjunction with a number of high schools in our board, to Return to Vimy Ridge to participate in the ceremonies hosted by the Ministry of Veteran Affairs to commemorate the 95th Anniversary of The Battle of Vimy Ridge. Students will represent a given soldier who died at Vimy Ridge by creating a tribute and wearing a shirt at the ceremony bearing the name of the soldier. The 12 day trip will take us to Milan, Venice (Italy), Bern, Lucerne (Switzerland), Paris, Normandy(France), Ypres, Dieppe, Passchendaele, Flanders and Brussels (Belgium). We will have daily educational tours. More information to follow. (Open to gr. 9-12) departure date: March 31st 2012. (AB –Apr 29)

ATTENTION GRADUATES – AWARD INFO: The Sylvester Quinn Memorial Award in the amount of $1000 is awarded to one graduate in each Ottawa Catholic High School to assist students in pursuing a post secondary education. Applications for this award are now available in Student Services. (RB –Apr 21)
GRAD T-SHIRTS: Grad T-Shirt money is due by April 21st. A booth will be set up at lunch in the Atrium every day until the 21st so that you can purchase your shirt. If you don’t bring your money, you won’t receive a shirt. Don’t miss out! (S -Apr 21)
LOOKING FOR A PROM DRESS?? Fairy Godmother of Ottawa is a local non-profit dedicated to making prom night magical for all Ottawa area teens. Graduating high school students can be dressed free of charge for their special night. The dresses are stylish and in perfect condition so no one will know who has had the help of a fairy godmother! New and almost-new formal dresses, shoes and accessories are collected throughout the city and then distributed to Ottawa area high school students in need. Students who need a fairy godmother are asked to schedule a fitting by calling 613-232-PROM. (KP –Apr 29)
GRADUATION CEREMONY: The Grad Ceremony will be held Wednesday June 29th at 1:00pm at Mother Teresa HS. Each graduate will be given 2 tickets for their guests. Students that require more than 2 tickets must request the number of extra tickets by signing up in Student Services between Monday May 2nd and Friday May 6th. Signing up does not guarantee you will receive the number requested. Students should drop by Student Services the following week to find out how many extra tickets they will receive. (JH –May 6)
